I'm in the market for a new phone, I currently have a htc one m7. I do like htc phones, sense is my favorite skin, but I still prefer stock android. So heres the deal, I can buy a brand new unlocked htc one m9 for about $280, or I can splurge and buy a 6p for $450. I don't usually spend above $250 on my phones so $450 is alot of money to me. I really like the 6p so this decision is difficult for me. Do you think the 6p is worth an extra $170 over the m9, or should I just go for the m9?

IMO, the M9 is over rated.... the two speakers on the front are really nice, and that is why I bought one for my daughter, and I paid a horrible full retail price... as I could not "afford it" so I took it on contract, and paid the tithes to the reaper.... so, mine comes out at about $700~ or more because I pay an extra $10/month for 'contract price'

Being a Samsung user with the very bright dense colors, I hate the M9's soft pastel screen colors.

I don't know anything about the 6p

The M9 is smaller (a big advantage to me, may not be to you) and has expandable storage. My daughter likes hers. I've never seen a 6P in real life so haven't much to say on it, though obviously a big chassis includes space for a bigger battery, and you can expect updates for longer (though the M9 should be good for another year).

(Samsung are off topic, but I have a Samsung tablet running their version of 5.1 and am sure that Samsung's UI designers must be colour blind ;). Each to their own I guess).

Sounds like you really want the 6P,so,I say go with what you want:
The extra $170 is a small price to pay over the life of the phone (guessing you'll be in it for two years, based on the phone you have now,if you got it near initial release date).
But,if this is a short-term move, say six months or less,I'd say get neither.
If it were my decision:
I'd get the M9:
SD Card,I-R Blaster & FF Speakers are the deciding factor, although the AMOLED displays (IMHO) look a bit nicer,as on the 6P.
Have fun deciding................. ;) :D

I have a habit in my life, of "getting what I want" if the price is "right as of now" for me...

My theory is, that six months from now, I will have forgotten what it cost me, or the pain is gone by then, and every time I use it, I get a lot of enjoyment out of it. ( point in fact, my current Honda Goldwing motorcycle.... I upgraded to the latest model )

But, every time, I cheaped out and bought a POS because it would "be okay for now", I have griped about the POS until it ended up in the trash dumpster...

so, for your own piece of mind, go for what you want, and forget what the wallet thinks.
