A Tag Heuer is never losing its value. Good investment

I am a bit of a timepiece diva. I've got Movado, Gucci, Raymond Weil and a few others. I had a gold Waltham pocket watch that I had restored, but I gave it to my son on his 21st birthday, which he carried on the day of his wedding. :)

I've never been a fan to Tag's, nor of chronographs, but this one caught my eye and when they went over the sale price and I tried it it on, the Mrs. insisted I buy it. Of course she didn't have to twist too hard. ;)

That's the principle I use when buying any watch, here's the last one I bought.

And I'm fully confident that in the future it will at least keep its value

While you may jest, I have had some el-cheapo watches that i absolutely adored. Some of the original Fossil's come to mind and I still have a 30-year-old Seiko i can't bear to part with. Swiss Army marketed some very attractive casual and sport watches as well.

Rolex has never impressed me, but maybe one day they'll make a decent timepiece. ;)

Yeah, but is it art? :)

I think Rolex must have done a bang up job in terms of marketing because I thought these expensive watches were the pinnacle in terms of craftsmanship. But I know little about the watch market, and what is considered to be a 'good' timepiece.
Is it a bit like Stella Artois beer being "reassuringly expensive"?

Remember that living room set I got, the sectional and recliner? Well we couldn't possibly use the coffee and end tables we already had, I mean we really couldn't, the space was all different and they no longer fit. So we needed a new coffee table and a little table to go by the recliner. (no longer room for traditional end tables because of the sectional.
So behold, my new coffee table and (do they call it an occasional table?) new chair table.
