Ok, First a little history. I have been an iPhone user for at least 6 years and had flip phones before that so I did NOT text with the flip phones. Anyway, you know how when you have the text message app already open in an iPhone how when you "send" or "receive" a message there is a "swoosh" type of sound? Well, I am wondering if I am gonna have to do without this on my new Moto X 2nd Generation because when I check for these sounds you get the same sound as the sound you hear when you get a text with the app closed but less volume than when the app is closed. With the sounds this loud I don't want them BUT if they can be turned down a bit I'd love to have them on.

Textra is used by many. I use chomSMS that is the paid big brother to Textra and you can set the notification sound in it.... Thom
I looked on the play store but didn't see "chomSMS" what it showed me when I searched was "Chomp SMS" and it's free, I see a lot of themes for it and all of them are free as well. I don't see a "Paid version" for some reason. Wonder if the free one is any good?

Try looking in settings for the app you are using and perhaps you will find something that will help.... Thom
I have looked a bunch and tried many changes but have had no luck in adjusting the sounds I'm speaking of. :(

Ok folks, I have been and still am using Textra BUT I still would like to use a text messaging app that giving BOTH send and receive sounds while the app is OPEN like in an iPhone phone text message app. TOO many to keep downloading and trying , heck it would take forever unless I just got lucky. So, I'm sure there are some here who know of such an Android message app IF it exist.............. anyone?
