Root Going to start cooking CM13 for Z970

no

to be honest with you, I would not keep up hopes of a 6.0 rom coming out on this phone

the devs that have put out roms for this phone have went elsewhere. I personally have not messed with any phone in a long while

the guy who made this thread does not even reply to simple questions, in one of his posts he stated he has 6.0 booting, i think that is very unlikely, but I am a pessimist naturally
I am sceptical as well. It just seems like if he had cm13 booting he wouldn't have a problem putting up a pre-alpha test build for people to troubleshoot or posting links to the device tree, kernel source, and vendor files so other people would be able to help on the development end of things. I'm not calling anyone a liar here just voicing my scepticism.

yeah, I am not calling anyone a liar either, I am just skeptical, or maybe my understanding of "booting" means something very different to him

he may be referring to his Android Build system is finally booting Linux, but not running stable, and did not mean the actual phone booting with Android 6.0

When I say booting, I mean the actual phone is booting to the Android home screen, and if it is not booting all the way, or just keeps restarting, it is not considered booted

Anyway, making a working tree, getting it to build, making the necessary changes to the kernel, and getting the phone to boot, is a major accomplishment, and if he actually accomplished this, I think he would have been a little more excited about it no matter how unstable it was running

But it is actually booting. The reason I never posted it was because what's the point if the main reason for having a phone (service) is non functional and besides that it just isn't stable enough for everyday use even for a WiFi only setup.

hey phenomx4, I was not talking about you, I was talking about the OP of this thread bfldworker, and I dont think he has been working with you

phenomx4 I would not doubt you if you ever said you have a rom booting, I know what you are capable of

I have been getting a secure boot error 1003 everytime I boot. Can't figure it out.

As for your skepticism, I don't blame you. I am not a seasoned DEV,came the last time I cooked a ROM was in 2011-2012.

I would know where to start with posting source code, dev tree , the kernel source or vendor files.

As for not posting a Alpha, it's pointless to post anything when I can't get this shit biscuit to completely boot.

I won't lie, I am in over my head with this. Between that and the fact I have no free time to do anything but work and take care of my father, I have almost zero time to devote to this.

Well @hroark13 got the cm 13 booting seems to run smoothly by the video he provided so both devices have a booted cm 13 now its time for the devs pin point the ril deal

I am not a dev by any stretch of the imagination. I am someone who got fed up waiting and someone who owns a ZMAX that is utterly baffled by the fact we have a piece of hardware that can run Marshmallow without breaking a sweat. So if a seasoned DEV wants to run with this, then by all means they are welcome to it. All I can do is figure out where I fraked up and go from there.

did not mean to be so hard on you, I was just trying to figure out how far you got, and if you needed help or to be pushed in the right direction

I don't know what's going to be going on. I haven't done anything with it for a few days due to 14 hour days at work recently. When I get home I will see where I am at and fill you in.
