Help contacts transferring problem!

Hi I need to transfer my contacts from my old phone to a new phone since i cant charge my phone due to the docking part is broken. I tried to use google contacts and samsung transferring app thing, but it moves my contacts, but only few of them. i have about 350 in my contacts, and those two moves 120 of them. i checked gmail and i try to sync again, but its the same it only contains 120 of my contacts. what is a way to fix this?

A lot of times we'll see contacts that never get sync'ed to Google because they started off as SIM contacts ages ago and the first time they were imported into an Android device the user declined to switch them to Google contacts. Unless you have a local backup of your contacts, you will have to find some way of getting a charge on your phone long enough to move them.

At this point the quickest way would be to export them from your phone and them import them into Gmail on your desktop.

Well, you could look into your contact list. Typically for Samsung phones, and I think most other brands, therewould be a blue G icon indicating Google contacts.

If several don't have it, then you can export the contacts via the contacts settings menu. This would create a file with all the data needed. Then if the phone also has an import function, you can attempt to use that to import to Google. If your phone doesn't then you can email the file to yourself and import the contacts to Google on a PC.

You should have an app called 'contacts'. Open that and then press menu>import/export. There will be an option to export to a vcf file. That's a vcard format. Even thought it might only display your first contact only, it will export your entire phone book. From there you can import it to your new phone, but I'd recommend importing it to Google on a PC so that you are sure they are syncing correctly.
