I'm an Android power user, and I love using the 5x. I know there's another AMA around here, but if you have any questions you want answered, I'd be glad to reduce the student:teacher ratio.

Background info which may be useful:
I have routed around the EMUI(not that it's bad) and applied Arrow Launcher (I recommend this) and use the Cryten Icon Pack (Also recommended)

  1. Get an SD Card or you will find yourself struggling for space pretty quickly
  2. Set up your fingerprint(s) - I set up both index fingers to unlock so I can unlock it whith either hand when I pick it up.
  3. Protect all apps
  4. Set power profile to the lowest setting (IIRC it is normal).
  5. Find a good case if that's your thing.

I just received my Honor 5x and I love it so far. The only thing that I have a problem with is the visibility in bright light. When I am outside in sunny conditions or even cloudy skies it is hard to see the screen. I have tried setting the brightness to max and also set it for automatic brightness but is is still difficult to see outside. Numerous reviews mentioned that the Honor 5x had great visibility outside and was one of the reasons I purchased it. Is there any other settings I can change to increase the brightness so I can read the screen outside?

I haven't had this problem, but just in case your lux sensor isn't functioning correctly, install CPU-Z. Go to the sensors page and look at the lux sensor reading. If it doesn't fluctuate dramatically from a low-light to high-light situation, there might be a problem in the sensor.

Sensors report a low of 2 lux inside a dark room to over 3000 outside with cloudy skies. I can see the figures on the screen outside but they are dim and hard to read. How bright is yours outside?
I haven't tested mine outside, but in a room with my shadow over it, it reports 30 lux and goes to 357+ when I expose it to the inside light. Your lux sensor is working fine though, so I don't know why it won't work. See if the auto light has a difference as opposed to turning auto off and manually going to bright.
