Help Bluetooth dropping in my car

So I have been having an issue with my phone in my car. It connects fine to bluetooth. Plays music great but when I make or receive a call it will sometimes disconnect mid call or if it makes it to the end it drop off while trying to end the call. I tried deleting the pairing and reinstalling but it just keeps happening. The car is a 2015 4runner with entune that worked flawlessly with my htc one m8 an my wifes iPhone so it isn't the cars system.

This isn't really a wide spread issue from what I can find online so maybe faulty phone hardware? Should I return the phone? I bought it through the google store. Do they offer tech support?

Thanks!

I think this is a widespread issue. There are tons of posts on Android Central about it. I don't have the phone right now because of it. You could try talking to Toyota to see if there is an update to your car, but from what I can tell this is on Google and an issue they need to fix.

I'm going to disagree about it being widespread. I think it is happening to some users who are very vocal; problems you see talked about on message boards tend to be overstated, since people don't typically feel a need to comment about a feature that works the way it is supposed to. From what I can tell, most people are having no issues with Bluetooth, but there are a relatively small number of phones that have had issues -- and most of those were cleared up by the most recent January security update.

just got a 2016 toyota camry sE , spec edition with Entune Audio Plus package that includes an upgraded 7-inch touchscreen, satellite radio and HD radio.

is there any way to have google maps app work with this system? toyota says no, but there should be a way as other app function with this android integration system.

There are a fair number of people on both Android Central and XDA with issues that still haven't been resolved. It may not be an epidemic because I know a lot of people that have zero issues with it. I understand that the vocal minority on forums are just that. But I'd still say it's a pretty big issue that needs to be addressed.

For whatever it's worth, I've also noticed bluetooth connectivity issues with the N6P (connecting both with my Huawei Watch and my car head unit), and I know of many others with similar problems.

This is a very real problem:

The good news is that we may have a fix on the way:

Fingers crossed!

I gave up on mine working in my car. Connects when it feels like it but more often than not I have no connection. I went through many support tickets with no resolution. Works great with my Garmin watch, Bose sound link, beats wireless headphones and my wife's car so not sure if it's just the relationship between the phone and my car. I never had problems with my wife's iPhone 6s in my car or with my HTC one m8.

I recently flashed my 6P back to the latest N developer preview, and am pleased to report that the stuttering and other problems are gone. It actually connects to my head unit and streams the music as expected.

I would hope that whatever fix is in DP3 would be backported to M, but who knows.

In the meantime, DP3 is mostly-stable so could probably be a suitable daily driver for an adventurous person. :D
