$10 if you do have 4g in your area?

[According to Sprint] the $10 fee is NOT for 4G, but to use "Premium Data Services". It is NOT optional regardless of where you live.

Kind of a hard pill to swallow, but if you look at a broader spectrum the Evo will still be much cheaper than an iPhone and at least the same cost as an Incredible.

Oh man that stinks. Ok well I have an incredible and I'm not sold on it's signal quality (voice not data) other then that it is a hard sell for me to switch.

Two things:

1) I'm in the same boat in Columbus as not having 4G coverage now, but living in a major metro area I feel confident that I'll have 4G within a year. I would think the samy for Indy.

2) Sprint's 30 day program lets you try the phone for 30 days and if you aren't satisfied with it, then you can just return it and they'll refund every single penny you paid.

Just some things to keep in mind.

Yeah that kinda sucks. I would pay the $10 extra a month for 4G but in Central Florida there are no plans that I have found yet for 4G. I have the HTC Hero right now and I have a 2.1 rom on it with WiFi Tethering. I don't see it worth making the switch if I have to pay more and I do not get anything but a phone that is a little faster. Way to go Sprint. Ugh.

Still looking for clarification, but I think the $10 removes data cap completely. While it would mean paying $10 more if you don't use 5G data now, it certainly helps to know you'll never be hit with the $18k charge that got all the headlines recently.
