Hello all! I currently use an HTC One M7 that I purchased used on eBay a few months after it came out. I'm with AT&T at the moment, on a family plan that my uncle pays for. I want to move on and pay for my own cell service now.
Where I live, AT&T has no service, and I need to use a Microcell to be able to use my phone. Unfortunately, it sucks and only works like 50% of the time. I have a cheap GSM Windows Phone with Ting that is my business phone line (I don't use it much, that's why I went with Ting). Since Ting uses T-Mobile, I can use WiFi calling. This works flawlessly and I want my primary phone to have WiFi calling as well.
My HTC One M7 doesn't owe me anything, but I think it's time to replace it. For how much I use it, it has held up well, and I would have no problem choosing another HTC device. However, it crashes and reboots multiple times per day (I switched to CyanogenMod to try to resolve this but it didn't make a difference), Bluetooth audio cuts out frequently, the camera which sucked from day one is now completely purple, and the battery doesn't hold as good of a charge as it used to.
I'm leaning towards the HTC 10 through T-Mobile because they can finance it for about $30/month for 24 months - I do like to keep phones for a wheel clearly so I'd probably upgrade the phone after those 2 years is up. I'm worried about the camera being less than exceptional since that seems to be HTC's weak point, though reviews of the the HTC 10 say it's alright. Is there a reason not to get the HTC 10? Is there a better phone for the same price?
I am thinking that T-Mobile is a good choice since it has WiFi calling as a carrier. I saw Google Project Fi runs on T-Mobile as well, but I'm not sure if that supports WiFi calling. Is T-Mobile the best carrier for me?
Thanks in advance for your input!
PS: I really love Windows Phone but I need to get an Android since neither of my banks have apps and I use mobile check deposit daily.
