Help Sony Xperia z1 won't charge.

So i got a Sony Xperia z1 (I got it from my brother) and i had no problems with the phone at all.
Untill 1 day the phone died , I tried to connect it to the charger and the red light went on.
After a few seconds the phone turned on and it directly stopped charging.
Please help

After the phone turns itself on (after receiving sufficient charge to power), can you then keep it plugged in, turn it off and it then resume charging but stay off?

Tried it and it didnt charge

when i power it , it turns on and when i turn it off it charges for a second and enables itself again

Dose it show any sort of icon when it stops charging,stupid question,did you try another charger?

It doesnt show any icon it just stops ( the red light goes off )
And i did in fact try another charger ( i tried 3 diffrent chargers , a sony + lg + Samsung )

Oh, I thought when I had Z1 if I turned it back off after turning itself back on it would stay off and charge. When it turns on try it in Safe Mode. Think you hold the power button when on (so it bring up the power off option, then press and hold the power option again and OK. Does it charge then? Also yes, as The Phizzle says, perhaps it is a bad cable / plug not getting enough power to it for some reason.

When you connect it to PC does it recognise and able to read the device and files fine? Does it charge then?

Sounds like probably a bad charger port then, I have no more ideas. Seems strange that it does recognise it and and charge but then switch on and not

I ordered a Docking port which will use the 2 point on the side 2 charge i will comment if it worked or not

Happy to inform that the phone is charging now , it was indeed the charger port but i got a docking charger for 10 euro and it works
