I enabled adoptable storage on my s7, will this having any negative effects?

Depends on the quality of the SD card. Remember that even the fastest SD card is still slower than the actual onboard flash memory. Plus SD cards are more likely to fail. When it does fail, youre going to experience various troubles like ghost touches, unresponsive phone, etc. But that's what's normal to expect from using adoptable storage on any Android phone. Just make frequent backups so you can factory reset without worries if need be.

That sounds depressing. Ugh I'm so dissapotioned that Samsung only made a 32gb of internal storage. Honestly I think SD cards are just dumb. I miss my iPhone which had 64gb internal

There's always the S6 with 64 and 128GB internal. From what I hear the only real complaint about it is battery, but that can easily be solved. And the performance really isn't that far off.

Also, it would be better to not use the external SD as adoptable storage anyway in my opinion. Samsung's default implementation of letting other apps move part of their data to SD card and let the core part stay in the internal is better IMO.

But it still doesn't leave me with enough space for all my games... and the s6 battery is a deal break. I should have gone for the note 5

Sure, as long as you are willing to reconfigure the applications to use external-storage after pretty much every Play Store update that they get.

I had 40+ apps "moved" into SD storage and every few days they'd need to be checked to see if they had moved back after an update. Yeah, that got pretty old very fast.

I've quit bothering now, and just let them migrate back to internal-storage as they inevitably will if they receive any update.

I can sympathize with the OP on the issue, and find it to be quite annoying that Samsung chose to release a flagship phone in 2016 with a maximum (in this market anyway) of 32GB on-board.

The issue I see is that none of the Gear VR content can be moved to SDCard and some of those programs are 100+ megs in size. If you have a lot of VR apps, your internal storage fills up fast.
