Help USB Port not working. Motherboard fix?

A

Android Question

Guest
Hello Forum,

I have a LG Vs980 that the USB port stopped working on. Verizon convinced me that a factory reset would fix it. It did not. I replaced the USB port and it still does not connect to a computer or charge. Since I have some data on the phone I would like to retrieve, I am looking for troubleshooting tips. Is there a way to check USB voltages and determine if the motherboard has a bad component not supplying voltage, preventing the USB from being recognized? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Have you tried different cords, making sure that USB charging is chosen in the settings?,

I have tried several cables and chargers. I have two other LG G2 that work fine. This phone just quit charging and wont connect to a computer. I replaced the charging port board and it does the same thing. I suspect maybe I dont have necessary voltage on a pin? I dont know how to check.
