Probably. I'd be interested in the dock if it came with a remote or something. Otherwise a HDMI cable, kickstand, and power cable (if I need it) will be fine for me.

Dock will most likely be much more expensive than a cable.

A remote would be a nice touch, given the playback controls are otherwise on-screen.

In a perfect world I could dock my phone next to the tv, sit on my couch and control my content.

But... I doubt we'd be so fortunate.

I'd love a remote. I'm thinking that I will probably be able to just plug my phone into the USB port of my Western Digital TV Live box and navigate through my content with its remote though. Probably only do this to occasionally watch video that I recorded with the phone (or transfer videos from the phone to my external HD that's hooked up to the WDTV Live)

I'm not sure. The way that article reads on the subject of Type D, "They will be about as small as existing micro USB connectors." And Type D has 19 pins vs micro's 5.

MicroHDMI (type D) has 19 pins and MicroUSB has 5.

Monoprice doesn't have a MicroHDMI cable yet as the EVO is the first device that uses the new connector that is part of the HMDMI 1.4 spec, or at least is the first that I am aware of.

i answered this question in a thread weeks ago. this is direct from an HTC America tech:

"...it is a micro HDMI port. The type of cable you need is a type D male to Type A male. ..."

you can also rest assured Sprint will have the cable at launch. price is up to Sprint but they will have one...

Did we ever get an official ruling on the HDMI Output type, and is there one on Monoprice?
