Plan to buy a 5s when I can get to a store but my reason is all our kids and grandkids have iPhones and all use facetime. None want to use skype which is what I have on my android. Going with the 5s beacuse it will be really just for calls and facetime and will be a sort of "home phone" for us and we will keep our andriods. With family plan discount the plan will only cost us $25 per month and the 5s will always be on our wifi and again really just for home phone calls and facetime with family. Specific need phone only and again we'll keep our androids as they are with me having a Samsung Avant now what 2 years old and my wife having the LG K7 bought about six months ago to replace her LG L70. That is just our reason and why we are going with just the 5s and nothing more.

I fleetingly considered, mainly for the Apple Pay... But imho it's just too much money for too little screen real estate.
I might be tempted to get anything that could ever dual boot ios and...
But I'd rather pay a premium for a Surface phone(w/ large screen), if it ever gets here... would allow me to do my windows work w/o carrying tablet or laptop, and could always connect to dock / larger screen as needed.

That's a great idea. I don't know how many people still have a land line; my wife and I got rid of ours back in 2011. Since the children are old enough to leave at home now, by themselves, we did buy a cheap tracphone to use as a home phone. Since you say all your family use iPhones it'd be a great way of keeping in touch, especially since you say they use FaceTime.

You don't need Skype marshmallow has its own build in video call.

He had them already but said corp would not let him put them out for sale until Monday.
Interesting, thank you.
For the Stylo 2 I visited a non corporate the Friday morning previous, and the owner told me the shipment was sitting there waiting when he opened the store.
He offered to sell on the spot.

3 years ago my local corporate received a second shipment of one of the periodic Samsung entry levels, after selling out initially.
They announced having received, but didn't want to put them out yet. Instead they made everyone interested sign in a pen & paper waiting list for an entire week.
"In a few days we'll begin calling everyone, so please answer when we call you. Also, you are not guaranteed, you're on the overflow portion. But don't worry, those that don't answer on the spot lose their turn."
Can you tell me when you'll be calling?
"We haven't decided yet."
This for something very cheap.
I was so put off by the bs make work & arrogance I've never gone back.

just a little update. I did buy the iphone 5s from metropcs and so far my wife and I are really enjoying the facetime video calling with our out of state grandkids. I ported a number so my cost for the phone was $139 and I put it on the $30 plan since it is replacing our home phone and will mostly be on wifi here at the house... being as we have two other metropcs phones that $30 actually equates to $25 per month for unlimited calls, texts and data with the first gig at high speed but still unlimited after that which is at least good enough for emails and very light browsing such as looking up whats on tv each night. Glad I bought it!
