App once compatible, removed, now back it says incompatible?

My poor Android Xoom Tablet is 5 years old. It updated to ICS right out of the box when new. I did a full factory restore several years ago. After that sometime I installed the CBSN app for the 24hr streaming. Worked great. I like that app. Other apps install fine. Then recently I had another issue to do a factory restore. Now that I go to put the app on there from CBSN again it says incompatible? Any suggestions to get me beyond this? Would be much appreaciated. Thanks in advance.

Is that CBS News app? Here's a version that can be sideloaded.

It says minimum 4.0.3 ICS, which might work for your tablet.

Mike, my bad. I was looking for the 24 hour streaming CBSN news app. The Son of CBS news. lol That app loaded by the way. I can't figure. I just loaded this app on an adroid phone several months ago. But still the problem persists on the tablet, incompatible. Yet, it was playing as I did a factory restore?

Can't find that one on apkmirror. That site is one of the few safe resources of apps outside of Google Play. Maybe available elsewhere, e.g. Google search, but use caution, like untrusted sources may have malware attached. The updated version may have changed the minimum OS requirements in Google Play, even though it probably still works with 4.0.3 ICS.

Just a thought, and something you could try. If you got another device, like a phone, that will install and run CBSN, I recently found you can copy apps from one device to another using ES File Explorer, no root required. However the latest update to ES does have its own issues at the moment.

So you might want to get an older version here...

It's odd for sure. As I mentioned I had it before the factory restore and got it from Google Play. But now it says it's incompatible. Not understanding what caused that? I have read ways around that negative message but can't remember how. I guess I'll just have to do with it on the phone and the desktops. Thanks for your input.

THIS!
If you have another device that will accept the download, install an APK extractor & then send the copy to the desired device.

Do you have another app by the same company?

Google decided a couple of years ago that my Audubon Apps were not compatible with an older tablet after I had to uninstall one and reinstall it. I had 3 others by the same company, and they were working just fine. ICS 4.0.1
I looked on Amazon, and Amazon did not list the tablet as incompatible, so I repurchased the app from Amazon @$.99.
It's showing up in Play Store now, no sign of incompatibility and updates are available. (Not doing them)

Does the CBS app have videos? I can't get At Bat to play from a previous upgrade. I think the FPS were increased and the tablet can't handle it.
