Sorry Chief, but for me, that would be like putting diapers on my feet to wear as socks. :p

I've sported the thin TPS cases ever since smartphones hit the market. I've always had luck with them because they came up the sides and protected my phones to the Nth degree from the many times I've dropped my phones. I could probably have played hacky sack using my phones with those types of covers. I've watched them bounce and tumble like superballs and never has one stopped working or had a screen crack.

The portfolio's are just too cumbersome since my inspection software app is on my Note and needs to be conveniently slipped in and out of my pocket constantly as I assess areas.

Oh sorry for shooting you. We thought it was a gun you were reaching for.

FWIW I've never seen anyone doing holster carry of their phones in China.
LOL! I used to have a sawed-off shotgun App so it's just a matter of brushing up on your draw.

Yeah, the hip holster is vintage here in the U.S.

Seriously. Where would months of rumors of 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 823 SOC come from, only to turn out to be completely false just a few weeks before the planned formal announcement by Samsung? Wouldn't they have learned from last year's Note 5 disaster that the only way to earn back any respect from their most serious and vocal user base would be to under promise and over deliver? Is there any chance that's exactly what this is - worry us they're about to release a 4GB Snapdragon 820 SOC, then 'surprise' us with the higher specs for real? I sorely hope that turns out to be the case come August 2nd. I've already waited it out patiently for an extra YEAR with my Note 3. If they do pull a fast one again and anemic update to the Note 5, I'm going to go out of my way to look for someone, ANYONE, who's instead trying to make a device that gives me a giant leap ahead in RAM, CPU, and much larger and faster local storage. I will start to become very suspicious if no one does.

Chances are pretty good that all the rumors about the 823 and 6gb (at one point rumors even said maybe 8gb) of RAM will end up being false. We are getting the 820 and 4gb RAM most likely. Bigger battery, but not as big as the rumors - so probably a 3600 instead of 4000+ mah battery. It will still have the best camera of any smartphone, bigger internal capacity (64 gb will be the default IMO), an SD slot and IP waterproofing. Those things will probably be enough for me to upgrade from my Note 4, but like you I am very disappointed that they are likely going to underwhelm on the processor and RAM.

Seriously, after the Note 5 they really need to come out with something that is a giant leap forward, especially if they hope to charge 850 Euro for it, Note 5 seemed like a step backwards really and I stayed with my Note 4 because of it, if the Note 7 isn't something very special then I'm keeping my money and staying with my Note 4 for another year and just flashing a good custom ROM instead

Frankly, for a company that releases about 30 new phones a year, it's probably quite difficult to really do any great leap forward with it, a slight restyling, and maybe an improvement in some of the specs over last year's model. Another thing, many are not going to be paying 850 Euro up-front for it, they'll get them from carriers, locked and subsidized with two year contracts. But then other flagship devices can cost that much as well.

It looks nice. I like the rounded edges, should be more comfortable to hold.

I think the picture with the face of the phone towards the camera looks stretched side to side however. Look at the hand of the person holding the phone in that picture - the hand looks stretched. So whoever took the picture may have altered the pic to make the screen look wider/bigger than it actually is.

Interesting perspective. The last thing I want in a Note7 is a long, skinny device. I need lots of screen real estate to use the S-Pen effectively, and I'm sure I'm not alone: how many of us want to write vertically? I hope it's sufficiently wide to be useful.

I agree. I liked how the N3 was a bit wider to height than the N4 (I realize this was just the body, not the display dimensions changing). Hopefully the pics posted are not altered as it looks a bit wider to it's height than the N4.

EDIT: After further looking at the images posted today, there is no doubt the image that shows the phone facing the camera the most is stretched side to side. If you zoom in on the camera icon on the bottom of that picture and also the picture with the phone laying face-up on the table, the camera icon is definitely stretched sideways in the picture where it is in the persons hand. So unfortunately, the phone is not as wide (to total length) as that picture looks like. It is odd to stretch a picture, but it looks like it was done and the only reason I can think of is to make the phone look wider or the display bigger.

Also, I noticed the phone's corners are more rounded and look a bit different in these "leaked" pics than earlier leaked pics posted here. Just another item to note.
