I know that if Hilary Clinton wins the presidency...
there will be 2 presidents in the white house!!! weird!

Ex-President Clinton will always be called President. so he will not have a new title.
Mr. President Clinton and Mrs. President Clinton.

but what if the husband was not a previous president..
what would the husband be called? Frist Gentlemen.. just does not sound correct.

But most of the news writers/reporters/anchors don't seem to know that. It bugs me. Not sure when it started but it's been going on for a long lotta years now and it's just wrong. I hear Mr. Clinton, Mr. Bush and even Mr. Obama more than President. Wrong I say, wrong.

What do other countries do? There have been plenty of countries with female Presidents as this point, I believe.

Looks like First Gentleman is the standard. And it's also used for the husbands of female governors within the US. I imagine that's what it will be.

I have never heard anyone refer to a Governor's husband.. ok..
hhhmmm....

Doesn't the Secret Service have code names for the president and family?
What will they call Trump?

POTUS. At least in the movies.

As far as two Presidents in the White House, I was under the impression that they spent as much time apart as possible. She should make him Vice or better yet Ambassador to Madagascar.

In a case where you have a woman politician who is married and she was elected President it would most certainly be The First Gentleman (officially) however, this is an unprecedented case for 2 reasons. First, of course this is the first time a woman has been a candidate for president in the United States, meaning first opportunity to have a First Gentleman. Second, in this particular case, Bill Clinton was a US President and as has been mentioned, officially, until his death, he should be only referred to as Mr. President, or in some cases Former President. (This is in an official capacity of course) So it will certainly be interesting to see what does happen should Hillary be elected.

It's the acronym FLOTUS that has a problem. You can say "first gentlemen" easily enough, but FGOTUS just doesn't work.

Maybe it's time to get properly into the 21st century and choose a gender-neutral title? It would be worth it just to see Fox News pundits spontaneously combust in response.

FYI...

POTUS = President Of The United States

so it does not refer to the family.. just the President.
