Root Help Rooting LG Stylo 2

Been looking everywhere for how to root Lg Stylo 2 on 6.0.1 marshmallow please can anyone help me carrier is boost Mobile

Hmm, I don't see any obvious references for methods for rooting the Stylo 2...

It's certainly getting harder to find rooting methods for non-Nexus devices, but hopefully if someone knows or hears of one for your device, they'll report back here.

Allegedly you can root with kingroot but you will have to enable oem unlock in developer settings and oem unlock via fastboot.

I have the Metro PCS Stylo 2 and KingRoot does NOT work. I have enabled oem unlock and unlocked the bootloader with fast boot, also usb debugging. KingRoot just tells me no methods available then shows me a number of people who have requested root and says the number isn't enough lol. Eventually it will happen.

I might look into building a twrp but redoing my machine now so don't know if I will get around to it.

Yeah i tried myself and its a no go. If we can twrp going then we can boot into via fastboot and flash superuser.zip if im not mistaking. I had original stylo im pretty sure it worked for that device. I wonder how different twrp would have to be to be compatible with this device

I wish someone would find a way to root it. I hate not being able to have my LG Stylo 2 LGLS775 not rooted I love this phone, its great. But would love to have it rooted as well

Just to clarify, Metro has the Stylo 2 PLUS...Boost has the Stylo 2.

Two different phones.

No developers, just like the Stylo 1

Try king root it temp but can get rid of the bloat ware

That's because it is a relatively new phone and not a lot of people have it. LG released the Stylo 2 PLUS a few months after the Stylo 2 so more people are probably going for the newer phone. Not the best marketing decision.

I might get this phone and if the bootloader can be unlocked and we can get root I can build a TWRP recovery for it and port over CM.

The specs are pretty nice on this phone.
I have a Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL right now but we can't find the bootloader to unlock it so no recovery and [emoji47]

Yes ,,,i think its the new version of king root, its version 4.95 from king root web site. It wont work on my LG Stylo 2 LGLS775 from virgin mobile.

Did u take the system update before trying the kin root?

It only gives u temp root though
