Hi everybody!
I am using s4 mini and it shows orange triangle with exclamation mark in the top left corner of the screen, I understand it is some sort of error warning but can't localise it, I know it is not related to WI-FI, data or battery issues. How do I find out what is wrong, or how I troubleshoot this. Any ideas will be appreciated.

It could be a number of things. Maybe it is a temperature warning. Has it felt warm to the touch? What have you done to try to fix it so far?

What Android Version?
sometimes phone is hot on touch but it is ok now and system monitor app I have installed shows average 26 degrees
I have not done anything to fix as I don't know the reason for it, just tried to find any app which would show me system logs or would help to troubleshoot, the icon doesn't appear straight away after phone is on, just a few minutes later
Latest changes I have made were moving some apps to sd card but I can't recollect if it happend before or after icon appeared as my first thought was that the warning was about data

Let's try to do a cache wipe and see if that helps. This will not delete your apps.

  1. Power off your device and wait for 5-10 seconds until the device is fully switched off.
  2. Press and hold ‘Volume Up + Home + Power’ buttons together and release them as soon as you see the Galaxy S4 Mini logo on your phone’s screen.
  3. Your phone will boot into recovery mode. Use Volume buttons to navigate Up and Down between options and use Power button to select an option in recovery.
  4. Select "Wipe Cache Partition" and press the power button.
  5. When wipe is completed, select "Reboot Device"

Let me know what happens.

Do I need to backup anything before doing this?

The only main problem I am having recently is Google Play Store stop message, can't use it unless I uninstall updates
You could try logging out of google then logging back in. Otherwise we need to consider a full factory reset. Which update are you referring to BTW?
recent update was to 4.2.2
What is the easiest way to back up apps and settings, I have sms and contacts synced to google
