Help home soft button

i'm using sony xperia aqua m4. suddenly i'm having issues with my home soft button, although back and task soft keys are working just fine. the problem is, when i press the home button, it only vibrates, but doesn't take me to my home page. if i swipe home button up, it takes me to google as well, so i guess there's no hardware related problem. i restarted my phone to see whether this is just a temporary problem or not. after that the home button seemed to work just fine, but only for an hour. i have not rooted my phone. please help!

Something seems to have gotten wrong with the software that handles the home button. Try a cache wipe (sorry, not sure how to do that with a Sony). If that fails. You may need to do a factory reset.
