Hello. I'm having a trouble about battery draining caused by Google Services. It has been like this for over a month. I don't think it is normal. Do you have any ideas what is the problem to cause this? Thank you.

Did you update your system a month or so ago? Normall when this happens, it's something conflicting from an old version still hanging around in the system cache or something is stuck on. Try shutting the phone off, booting into recovery and clearing the system cache.
Yes, it was a small update, like a security patch I think. But I already cleared the system cache right after the update. Do you think doing it again may help?

Try looking at your Google account and see if any of the sync options are stuck. I had high usage and battery drain and it was because for whatever reason my contacts weren't syncing and the phone just kept trying. Everything else was syncing fine, just the contacts. I just just shut off contact sync and the problem went away.

Didn't help. Thanks though.
If all else fails, try a factor reset. Of course, back up all your important data first.
Didn't help either, still thank you.
Yes, it seems not only me having this problem. I just unsure if it is me who to blamed or Google. I think the clock is turned to Google -ish.

Nope, the sync options fine. I tried both disabling all together in case they drain but didn't help. Thank you too.

Google Services can't be stopped, but only curbed.

I use Doze:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yirgalab.dzzz

It initiates a VPN so that you can block apps you don't want communicating when the screen is off. I use it overnight and my device only loses 2% over an eight hour period.

The top screenshot is more successful than the one below. You did something right. Always turn off Bluetooth, WiFi & Location if not needed.

Just in case:

Actually it got worse because the top screenshot is an earlier one. The phone is behaving crazy after an software update, it is overheating and the battery life is mediocre. It's became probably the worst phone I've ever owned.

I haven't tried Doze app yet. I'll give it a shot. Is it like Marshmallow's built-in feature?

Slightly different. It creates a VPN wall that inhibits incoming and outgoing data traffic during screen off. I suggest enabling its accessibility feature to allow it more control when screen is off.

Unlike the Doze function on MM, this let's you silence any app you want. The former gives preference to Google Apps.

Agreed. This app looks very good. I hope it works very good too. However you mentioned a VPN. Will my phone be safe during doing stuff like internet banking?

You won't be able to do anything with data unless you whitelist the app. When Doze is active, there's a gear on the top left. Use it to whitelist apps you want to run.

Just don't whitelist too many GApps. You can turn it off when your phone is active. Just reactivate it when you put it down.

My device loses only 5% over eight hours. Be sure that all common radios are off as well.

It works unreliable in my case. For instance I put IMDb app to whitelist but it is still unable to connect to internet as if it is not in whitelist. I think it has to do with Google apps because I did not allow to add any Google apps to whitelist. I probably should mention that I put Doze in aggressive mode (always active).

By the way, sometimes Google services drain battery up to %20 and at the same time, Whatsapp drains over %15. Two of them almost drain %35 to %40 of my battery! I barely use Whatsapp when this happens. Why is this happening?

Hello again @karasahin

I'm really thinking it is time for a new phone:(
His device isn't terribly old. All Android devices dependent on Google Play Services will exhibit the same symptoms no latter how new or old they are.

You will find a sweet spot with your device only if you understand it and how walelocks work with your phone.

I use AppOps, Doze & Greenify in tandem to achieve that sweet spot.

Almost two months, firmware upgrades, firmware downgrades, coolify, greenify, leathercases....seems like a hardware issue.

Hello sir! Sorry for late answer. I know, I'm trying not to hate this junk but it tries very hard to achieve that and I think it has won :p I am still waiting for the leather case I've purchased 40!!!! days ago. I wish I bought it with a signed cargo. I don't even know where it is now.........

I think it can be done by try & see method but my phone already looks a faulty one as Bg260 pointed out above. Maybe you can help with that one? I would really appreciate it :)

Yes, the update muist have damaged something.....
Yes, that or something still left behind from the faulty update even after flashing a brand new ROM. Why else I would end up having Lollipop's animations in KitKat? Absolute nonsense.

Also I'm really hoping the firmware update only damaged the battery if it damaged something, otherwise I don't know what to do because Knox counter is tripped. Samsung probably will say I void the warranty, even though I rooted my phone after the update. I maybe wrong, maybe the technician won't notice or care the counter but it is all down to luck. I guess I'm ****ed. :p
