Root Faster home screen redrawing

It seems that my home screen takes a while to load anytime I switch to it. Noticeably lagging are the widgets on that screen (GMail Unread Count x2, Agenda Widget, power control). I figure this is because these widgets are killed when using other programs to free memory. Is this the case? If so, is there anything I can do to change that since I am now rooted?

Sorry...I'd like to help you but I need more info.

- What ROM are you running?
- Did you wipe data/cache (possibly even format you partions) before loading it?
- What kernel are you using (have you had this problem on more than one)?
- What Launcher are you using? (Home, Launcher, Launcher2, Helix, ADW, etc)?
- How many screens are you running?

It's just that your issues could be tied to a number of things...hard to determine what to tell you to try at this point.

I've had this issue even before rooting, on stock 2.1. Right now I just rooted the stock rom, and the problem still exists. I'm using the standard launched/home. 3 screens, the one with shortcuts but no widgets is fine, the other two are slow to load when rotating the screen or returning to home after closing an app.

Download this MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

It's CyanogenMod's SpareParts app.
Put that file on your SDcard in the root directory (not in any folders)

Use Android Terminal Emulator
chart

and type this:

Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
busybox cp /sdcard/SpareParts.apk /system/app/
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
sync
Then go into the spare parts app scroll to the bottom and check the box to try and keep "Home app in memory"

Tried that, but the widgets still are slow to load.

Are you overclocked? My advice...

1) Get the donate version of Titanium Backup (or alternative) and back everything up.

2) Download Bugless Beast 1.0 or what I prefer...the one that Fabulous optimized called NexBeast 1.0 and install the 1.0Ghz or 800Mhz kernel for it.

3) Wipe data and install the ROM.

That's what I would do anyway ;)

I have the same problem with helix launcher 2. Getting rid of LWPs helped a little but there is still redrawing issues. I'm using Beautiful Widgets, Pure Calendar Grid, Gmail unread widget, pandora, music, and youtube widgets. I'd love to figure out what the problem is, because I never noticed this with 2.0.1. And I've noticed this on BB v1.0 and CM

I am currently getting no lag using Helix. Spare Parts has helped. I find some of the "Pure" widgets (messenger to be specific) slowed down my screen writes.
