Guess What This Is???

(Despite appearances:D) not truly my place to lay down the law here;

'Never stopped me from expressing an opinion, however:rolleyes:
And with such high stakes here, thanks for asking!;)

My personal philosophy (of the moment), and how I would hope to play the game myself, when following another's clue......Google, Wikipedia, other research tools are indispensable parts of daily life now, certainly no prohibition. But used as a tool to follow hunch, intuition, suspicion. Where is the fun if every clue gets solved by the first respondent, on the first guess, by a simple "click"?:(

At quick glance, looks like "Swiss Army" / Victorinox. But there have obviously been a zillion knock-offs, came in a zillion configurations. (Some so packed, and with a length/width ratio that made them look more like a two slice toaster, than a pocket knife).:D
If Victorinox, I imagine would certainly say so on root of the main blade. Also, the shape of the return spring in the scissors not right for Vnox.
What can be seen of "STAINLESS" on the main blade looks familiar to me (size, font, depth of stamping, etc.) from Japanese multi-knives (with fake "pearl" grips and no other identifying marks) I have seen, but that's as close as I am likely to get.
My question may be a foolish one; What is the intended purpose of the implement just in front of the corkscrew, at 12:00? Fish hook remover?

Repeating, for anyone new, and bring entire clue back to current page.
"What is this?"

Another "extreme closeup" shot.
Not a cornerstone, but not a far off guess.......
Similar to a cornerstone, but definitely not stone, and only adjacent to the (one) corner, where Mr. Petiet is.
Seven other men occupy similar locations as Mr. Petiet, and seven more hold positions similar to that held by Mr. Daguerre.
And unlike a cornerstone, definitely not down at curb level.

Honestly, with this clue I wasn't trying to be such a D-head.....I honestly hope this is fun.
I genuinely feel like if I know about something......everyone else does too; In this instance, this is something (I feel is so cool) I'm relishing the idea that it might be news to one or two out there! No intention to lord it over others, be deliberately obscure.:(
