Battery Full and % PROBLEMS.

Everything has been working well with the phone. Until tonight. I used the battery until it was at 1% and plugged in the charger. I continued to use the phone while it charged. When the phone reached 82% the message appeared telling me that the battery was fully charged and to unplug the charger. I unplugged the charger and plugged it back in... and it started charging again. Then I got the message a couple more times.

What's up with the phone telling me that it's fully charged when it's not?

I love this phone, but I think there are some issues with battery usage that they need to fix with an update. It's supposedly a very good battery but it depletes much faster than I think it should. Not as good battery performance as the old ZMAX. Now, having this issue with the phone incorrectly reporting the battery is charged when it isn't.... has me wondering.

I unplugged and plugged back in and the phone eventually charged all the way to 100% before reporting that it was full. I will keep an eye on this situation on the next charging cycle.

I had this problem with my old LG Motion phone. The battery would be charging and then stop charging at around 80 something % as if it's fully charged. Rebooting the phone would indeed show the battery is fully charged. If it happens again, try restarting your phone and see if it will show a full charge.

I haven't experienced this problem. The battery comes off of 100% quickly but it lasts forever between 40 and 60 percent for me.

I consistently get a minimum of 6hrs screen on time even under heavy Usage. I've managed as high as 9hrs screen on time on my best day

I'm thinking maybe this is a result of some kind of safeguard against overheating the battery. I noticed that the phone only does this when charging under heavy usage. I also noticed that the phone feels a little warmer than normal when it stops short of 100%.

^^^ This is exactly what I was going to chime in with. The battery's midway discharge range seems to be the strongest. Mine drops to 98% in just a few minutes after unplugging, but works very well beyond that, even using Pokémon Go.

While considering what the phone is running for chipset and other hardware, it's great on battery usage and doesn't even get very hot... Battery is on the very bottom on my list of complaints with Zmax Pro

Yes I agree

I came from the original Stylo (2900mah) to this 3400mah battery and the difference in battery life is extraordinary and the chip set for this device is much more powerful than the Stylo on top of it.

In fact there's not much I'd change about this phone. I do miss NFC and the keyboard from the Stylo. And I'd shrink down the display (everything is too big and bulky which kinda wastes the space of the 6inch display.

I shrunk down my Stylo display with root and Xposed to show more on the screen

For me the battery life is nearly the same as my old zmax. I wouldn't change anything but the speaker on zmax pro. It's definitely quieter than the one in regular zmax.

I love the phone. But, it's true that the speaker (both external and the earpiece speaker) do not deliver the same quality/loudness as the original ZMAX. I'm not complaining.... It's just a testament as to how amazing the original phone was. If they can improve the battery a bit, improve the speakers, and add NFC on the next ZMAX, they'd have a monster phone. You know, they're working on a phone with a 4900mah battery for their next release.

I would agree with your statement except one thing, if it was a safety measure the phone would not say your battery is fully charged in the notification center. It would just stop charging.

As far as I can tell it isnt a safety measure, but it also isnt unique to this phone. Its common (at least Ive seen it in some form on every phone Ive used) and basically a side-effect of heavy usage while charging. If you see it enough youll notice it reports a full charge about when it would have completed if the phone werent being used.

Sometimes the microchip that detects the charge of the battery will become miscallibrated. This happened to one of my Asus tablets a year back, it only charged to 50% and when the tablet hit 1%, it will stay there for ages. The easiest way to fix problems like this is to use the device until it is DEAD. I mean, even if it's at 1%, keep using it until the device shuts down on it's own. Then you can charge back to 100%. I haven't had this issue with my Zmax but it is possible. This can happen to any mobile device including laptops.

Well, it isn't that serious. The icon that informs you that the battery is at 100% when it isn't... is just wrong sometimes, but it doesn't prevent the phone from charging to 100%. There are TWO gauges regarding battery. One shows the battery % levels and another pops up when the phone is supposedly at 100% to tell you to unplug your phone. It's the latter that is at fault. The alert pops up before the % gauge is actually at 100%. Luckily, you can just ignore the alert and the phone will continue to charge to 100%.

This pops up once in a while, both when adapter is hot n cold.

There's one "fix?":
Power off /
charge phone @ Off for a couple of seconds, so that you get message Charging xx% /
Power On... Presto.

Edit - don't just reboot, that won't work.

A third party app reports correct % @Notifications while the system app is reporting the incorrect stuck at number.
As well I eventually get the "... unplug... phone fully charged..." @ the lower %.
