How can I get rid of System update download notification? I am rooted and I have TWRP installed and I have no desire to install a patch or update that will screw up this phone.

Knowing ZTE it is a patch to kill root again so I want nothing to do with it.

I don't know if this works on every ROM, but if you press and hold the notification it should pop up an "App Info" box? You press on that and there should be a checkbox on the next screen that lets you disable the notification from the updater app.

When I disabled it this way, I remember being really concerned that I wouldn't get other notifications from Gmail, Hangouts, etc. but I get those just fine.

Yeah that's the one. I disabled notifications from that and never looked back. Still get notifications from apps just fine, but I might be missing app update notifications specifically, which I don't really care about anyway since I have those set to auto-download.

Either the heat has baked my brain or my blonde roots have reinforced themselves. But how do I disable notifications for those system updates again?
