My Experience with Note 7 recall and Verizon

Went to the store where I bought my Note 7 today (bought it about 2 weeks today). They exchanged the Note 7 for a phone of my choice and I picked the Edge 7, figuring its the closest to the note. As far as I can tell the only difference is the lack of the S-pen on the edge. When the Note 7's with safe batteries are available I can then do another exchange to get the new Note -7, even if it is months away. I didn't have to pay any fees and in fact got a small amount of money back because the Edge costs less.

I can of course keep the Edge, but I'm 99% sure I'll get the updated note, since I really make use of the s-pen.

Overall a good experience...but it took a while since the store was so busy with all of the other note 7 exchanges.

Question is the S7 an upgrade from your previous phone? If not you better ask again. Today I went to another Verizon store To try to do the exchange to get my Upgrade back and go back to the Note 4. Denied. So they asked me to do the S7 or Note 5. I said no because I need MicroSD for my work can carry it on flash drive. The S7 does not have the pen for my Electronic Signatures. So I asked them if I said go with any of them can I go back to the Note 7 when it gets released they told me no because both phones is an upgrade from the Note 4. So if I take any of these phones and the Note 7 does not come out within the next 14 days then I will be stuck with the phone i picked. This is unacceptable. So for now I have to keep my Note 7 and hope for thr best. Watching the phone while charging and unplug it at night while sleep.

Verizon will give you a $25 credit on any of their products. That's what they told me.

I didn't get anything and I was told it was because I didn't buy a case or anything to go with my new s7 Edge. I guess that's what is meant by $25 credit. I found that out after I called (after I got back home). If I had known that, I would have purchased a case or something from them.

I contacted VZW yet again today as Samsung gave me 09/14 as the earliest ship date for new N7's. I mentioned the $25 inconvenience credit and she credited my account on the spot. One problem down. I am assured that I can swap my paid in full N7 now for a safe phone and again for anothr N7 when they come in with no fees. We will see if this is true when I go to the store this evening. Third trip. The last 2 times I was told I could only trade my N7 for a different phone and be done. So not happening!

Yes. Today. Only I was back to square one with the local VZW store wanting me to be happy with an S7 edge and a refund of the difference full stop. Not happening. I will hold out until the last minute with my perfectly working, never gets hot N7 before I give in and take it very reluctantly back. It is exchange N7 for N7 or refund for me. At least I got the $25 for the "inconvenience" though.
