Root [H631/MS631] CyanogenMod 12.1 for LG G Stylo

Hi, so I flashed the CyanogenMod that MrObvious sent, it looks like I'm not the only one with the soft reboot loop, so I found the cause of the soft reboot loop, idk why but the mobile data is the cause, I'm not a dev, and I'm using the LG G Stylo from T-Mobile, but I figured it out that is the mobile data. If you take out you're sim of the phone, you'll see that the loop stopped, complete the setup wizard and when you're on the home screen, disable moble data, put back the sim, reboot, and you'll see that there is no loop with the sim, but if you enable mobile data again, the loop happens. I'm just telling this cause I like the CyanogenMod on this phone and I wanna use it, but the mobile data is the cause, idk how and why, but if any dev can fix it I really appreciate it. Btw my english is not perfect cause I'm from Puerto Rico.

Hmm. You think you could get a logcat? That's really interesting (in a technical way, obviously it sucks trying to use this).

I don't have it. Odd. Was this a clean flash? Which gapps did you use? Also do you have location enabled?

All: I'm trying to track down the GPS reboots but honestly I'm having problems. I think it may be something kernel related. Unfortunately that's a bit above me right now. I do know it is some conflict between AGPS and GPS which causes a long running thread and kernel hang. I got a logcat myself but honestly I'm stumped.

So the workaround I guess is enable location and know it may reboot or leave it off.

And its all about the boot stack on the screen staying black I believe (flash the bootstack before the cm) I forget what one works but one of them with the 10 j bootstack fixes the screen off issue or it did for me atleast

If you KDZ any of the Lollipop KDZs it will do OTA updates. Just set your phone clock past 11 PM and it will update reboot.

A kernel needs to be compiled for cm13 yet so negative for now. Hopefully it can be done with T-Mobile WiFi calling available.

Trust me I'd like to get CM 13 going. I'm kind of running against the time issue. I have a job and wife and other stuff.

If anyone wants to try compiling it I posted instructions a couple pages back.

I always wanted to install CM on this potato-quality phone. Could you tell me if the files I've seen in this thread are stable builds and if not, is there a chance of a solid CM for this phone in near future? Unfortunately I'm not a dev myself so I can't help

Also, will those builds work on a LG G4 Stylus (H635)? It's technically the same phone that they sell in Orange.

If you can flash the same TWRP then sure.

You need the older boot.img.

I want to use this. I played around with it while the SIM was out, and I love how fast my phone became.

Do you know how to get around the soft reboot loop, though? I've tried flashing this over 10J and with Katana's MetroPCS partitions, but no dice. I've also tried to find the 10L KDZ, but it's nowhere to be found.

Actually, I had gotten it working.

After I posted about how it's not working on MS631v10j, I was PM'd a link to H631v10l. I flashed the KDZ, rooted, flashed recovery, and then installed CM. Still got the soft reboots.

After realizing I still had the issue, I then flashed Katana's MetroPCS partitions, as they didn't really work after flashing over 10j . I had one or two reboots, but after that, *mostly* everything was stable. I do get ghosting issues at the top of the screen from time to time, but everthing else is working as it should.

Awesome ROM, by the way.

EDIT: These ghosting issues are a bit annoying. Sometimes, they come and go; other times, they come and don't want to leave until I reboot. It's a fight over control of my phone and causes Trebuchet to crash when on the home screen.

I don't think anyone will get around to building 13...
That's not a dare... I've got no skills... It's just my opinion...
I stopped trying to run this on my phone after the screen blackout problem...
I know there it's a fix for that...
I don't need mystery with my phone...

I'd stay right where you are. I restored my backup for Katana. I had this on my phone for the last couple of days, it's a great ROM, but the ghost touches were killing me. My control over my phone was getting lost. No idea how to fix it, didn't bother trying. So, it's less than a 95% from me.
