EPRP with Best Buy or Radio Shack preorder?

Everyone is saying no on another forum, I don't know who to believe, lol.

Can you guys confirm this or is it just a hopeful guess? Best Buy's website says I am eligible for an upgrade, but from what I am understanding the Evo has different rules or something (and I'm at work and can't call).
check your sprint account and see what your upgrade says.

and yes it works. i got SERO (old eprp) upgraded from tp to tp2 @ bb

Hmm.. I called the EPRP telesales line and they told me I couldn't do it that way. They said it had to be through the website or telesales, and they don't have it for pre-order yet.

Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good. Hopefully they get this sorted out soon. I don't see why an EPRP customer who is out of contract should have to wait.

I guess the next question then becomes- if you are an EPRP customer out of contract, can you preorder it at Best Buy and switch to a standard plan? And if you do, can Best Buy add an employee discount at that time? And can this all be done without losing your phone number(s)?

This is probably different depending where you go. The Best Buy I got my Pre at would not touch EPRP and wouldn't even deal with me because I was on SERO. I believe(from seeing others saying it was done)that is very possible for them to get on the phone with Sprint and get the account all setup but they are lazy and won't do it w/o just going through their computer system.

So most likely you won't be able to get it done but if you find a nice employee then its very possible.

As for second part of switching to regular plan then yes it should be no problem for them to just bump your plan to the regular plan. I don't think they have the ability to add discounts so you would need to call Sprint and have them add an employee discount if you are eligible for one.

Yes, you can. They will have to get on the phone and call it in. As of right now we cannot touch those accounts in our system because they are coded as an "employee" account. Just make sure to check with them before hand to verify that they can see your upgrade date in their upgrade checker, otherwise there could be issues.

Also to whoever has the OLD SERO plan, you cannot keep that with the EVO. (30 dollar plan)

I preordered at RS for the 6/4 launch and when I went to get the phone at the store, they had to change me to a regular plan. Then I had to call Sprint afterward to get it switched back. Sprint told me they could have done it from the store but it seemed that everyone was overwhelmed that day. Just have them call Sprint from the store when you pick it up.
