Root [GUIDE] How to root T-Mobile 6.0 update

Well I managed to figure out the issue. Once I was in fastboot I found my device listed as an Android device. For some reason the drivers werent installed so the PC could interact with it. I had to manually install Android Bootloader Interface drivers (see attached. I also pulled .dll files from system). After that, fastboot recognized my device and was able to perform fastboot oem unlock with success. After that I did fastboot boot recovery.img to boot into twrp, which is where it got messed up. Either I skipped a step or the supserSu zip I have isnt compatable. Installed supersu and performed a backup which failed. I then rebooted normally and would either get stuck on the lg splash screen stating bootloader unlocked or the tmobile screen. Had to flash stock kdz and OTA to 6.0.
Questions:
1. When i run fastboot oem unlock and it finishes, should I fastboot reboot to normal before booting twrp?
2. The zip file in this thread for superSu doesnt seem to be a good link or something as I downloaded it previosly and it stated the file was corrupt. Is there another link to that version? And when I do fastboot boot recovery.img should i install supersu in twrp?

I can confirm that LG Flash Tool 2014 works to flash kdz for this device as this is what I used and havent seen any issues yet thanks to a youtube video providing download.

@Jack Mickey how do i revert the binaries update? My screen is flickering
your screen is likely flickering due to a hardware issue. I believe when the stylo was made there was a design flaw. The processor is seated too close to the screen, causing the screen to flicker as the processor heats up after moderate to heavy use. As for reverting the binaries, I will honestly say I don't know aside from restoring a backup through twrp.

With 6.0 Marshmallow, Chinese "free" adware one-click root exploit apps won't work, e.g. Kingroot, Kingoroot, Iroot, etc.

Kingroot works on the LG G Stylo (first one, Tmobile or MetroPCS variant). I used a method to take Kingroot out immediately and put SuperSu.

I don't like Kingroot but ADB didn't work for me,

Also, there are alot of fake "kingroots" so there is that issue to deal with

I flash the skinny t-mo from xda ( it's not skinny) ...
flash the t-mo debloat from xda ( on my metr0)...
Flash SuperSu PRO v2.76 UPDATE for MM..
Flash Jaybondze.zip mixer_paths.xml with edited values( because 99 is crunchy..94 is loud nuff)..
And then..
The xposed zip...
Then first boot....
After that...
install all the apps I need that were debloated ..
And then after perfection....
Install carp that mysteriously causes apps to clone icons....
Then....hope superbackup works with my superbackuped files ( that I back up every 3 flashes because I forget)

Was that one running Lollipop 5.x or Marshmallow 6.x?

Well yeh, these things do come from China. :thumbsupdroid:

What's the trustworthy source of Kingroot?

I know there has sometimes been posts in Android Questions along the lines of, I rooted by phone with Kingroot, and now it's showing ads all the time, or it's in a boot-loop.

Marshmallow. I don't like Kingroot at all. I always use adb or sometimes it's a zip file. Problem is for the LG G Stylo, there is no development (the one developer left). I don't recommend kingroot at all but with the LG G Stylo, you can easily unbrick so I tried it.

Flashed kdz file to restore LP 5.11 and updated to MM 6.0. Didn't take that +60 MB security update. Then I was able to unlock boot-loader and root through kingRoot. Mention this in case someone else has this issue where you can't root.

I don't like Kingroot either and most probably don't. As other's stated abd wouldn't root for us. To the people who our using kingroot. How did you get SuperSU to replace it? Tried everything: Flashify, Super-Sume Pro, Terminal command, etc. How'd you do it? And what version of app did you use?
