Root Safely Unroot Galaxy S5 *help*

Hello! I have a small issue, and please bear with me as I am fairly new to rooting and the such. I rooted my phone using odin, but now that Pokemon Go got the new update, it doesn't allow rooted phones (this is so stupid, because I had no thought of cheating). I am using android 6.0.1 marshmallow on a Sprint Galaxy S5 and I want to full unroot, safely.

I have SuperSU, and I know there is an unroot option in there, but I don't know if I should use it to unroot, as it says it could stop my phone from booting if something went wrong.

Please help and explain things as if I didn't know much, because I don't understand a lot about this.

Again, this is a Sprint Galaxy S5 on marshmallow 6.0.1, and I would like to know all necessary steps to safely, risk free, unroot. I rooted with ODIN.

I am not on Facebook. Subject to the time differences, I live in Miss Marple/Father Brown land in the U.K., and my other commitments, it is not always possible for me to enter into real time support. Hence the Dummies Guide. The first thing you need to do is ascertain your phone model and CSC and Product codes as per #1.2 and #1.8 of the Dummies Guide. If you post those details, I can point you to the correct firmware for your phone.

Also, just so that I am sure I do not type any numbers wrong, here is a screenshot of when I type "*#1234#" to get the CSC.

And a question: will this reset my phone as if I did a factory reset?

I'm guessing you didn't read the bit about installing the Phone Info app if your carrier has disabled the stock stock service code, in the Dummies Guide. The G900P variant has 4 different firmwares and so the Product Code is needed.

Odd..it tells me that product code is "not active" see screeshot.

Will this factory reset my phone?

What does the phone do during the process? I would just like to know what I can expect so that I don't get scared that it started to bootloop, etc.

It will not Factory Data Reset your phone under normal circumstances. However, as with any flashing procedure, I recommend backing up your device as per post #2 of S5 Update Problems - Dummies Guide.

As for what the phone does, see the video in the link I mentioned previously.

Are you sure it will work? The app tells me this. (Btw, when I rooted with ODIN, it installed supersu on my phone by itself)

touch on the option full unroot. if you do not seen this. inform me. it installs superuser on your phone . that means you got superuser access.

in my case i have seen this message.

i pressed continue in my case. in your image you have two option one is yes and one is no so, decision is yours but i will be investigate a further why this message shown. i think its need some ota update(over the air), i am not sure. do you have better wireless connection.inform me if you unrooted your phone.

If you have encrypted your phone, then unrooting, using SuperSU can cause issues which is why I suggested flashing your stock firmware as it will, hopefully, also repair your Product Code thus allowing OTA updates. The choice is yours.

i have no ideas about this , just use root checker and inform me your phone still have root access or not. when i used it by presssing continue i closed or uninstalled and root access is flee away. that what i say you to use root checker again. do you send me pic or video that by pressing continue which message is shown.

Thank you so much for your help! I have not yet attempted anything, but here are some screenshots I just took.

The first screenshot shows the message I get when I click "full unroot" in supersu.

The second screenshot shows the message I get when I click "continue" after the message pops up from clicking "full unroot"

And lastly there is a screenshot showing that my phone is, indeed, rooted.

Please guide me as to what to do.

For reference, the only thing I did with root so far is convert an app to a system app using titanium backup, which I will un-do, because I no longer need it.

But why wouldn't the supersu method work? It says the problem would only occur if I "manually decripted" my device.

I'm not completely sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do that.

The reason I would like to do the supersu method is that I do not have the internet resources at my house to download the stock firmware to flash, otherwise I would have tried that already.

So, what I am asking is, is it okay to use supersu to unroot, and if so, should I choose yes or no when this comes up:

Unrooting using SuperSU does not always work and in this case, its, "attempt", to do so has failed. This is why I never suggested it.
