ZTE Write Protection for ZMAX and other ZTE phones

You didn't mention that in the OP, it's the 3rd one listed under Does Not Work, I'm able to root it but I guess its only a temporary root because when I reboot it says not rooted, I'm not sure if that is considered a partial root or temp (I'm not to familiar with the android terminology..lol) root because it still lists Superuser after the reboot but root checker says its not rooted after reboot.. I'm trying to get tethering working on this phone like before on the Radiant, I found a way by editing a SQL database someone figured out on another phone, hopefully I can get tethering working while I wait for further development on these phones.

Edit: I see you did mention running that command in shell, but what I mean is that you have the ZMax 2 (LOL) Go phone as not working with it.. It does.. That was the part I was referring to.

Matt

I misread your post, but to clarify the command does not work with the LOL, what
Masterchief87 said above is correct

Thanks for the information. So TWRP as I said is still possible. Now can anyone tell me why my stock recovery file is not working when I use: dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21 ... mmcblk0p21 os the location of my recovery on this pos. all I know is the api is at 22 and I had some conflicts with that.. Thanks for letting me know philz is out of date.. now can I get some help?

You might have pushed the recovery.img to the wrong partition. It is best to always use the by-name path like /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery so that you don't risk bricking your device because of a single typo.

I did it, I put on adb "reboot disemmcwp" before running Kingo, But now i have a bootloop on my phone, i'm trying to flash it but i don't have the official rom stock of this device, Can anyone send me this rom to download it?

I have made some decent progress with this device.
First off ' reboot disemmcwp ' does NOT work without first rooting device.
Second you can NOT flash stock rom without a working recovery.
In which im kinda forced to make for myself. If I succeed. Ill be able to help you out. For now.... my advice...
Just get a new phone.

Go to your phones manufacturer website .find your model go to support tab ,click on software updates, search for update download file ,download to your pc or SD card and keep it in zip file, boot into recovery and install update.zip from SD card and you'll be back on your phone

It has to work to some extent, because it wont root with Kingo without using that command first and rebooting, I've tried multiple times and I have to run that command first for Kingo to root successfully.. Do I have to re-enable it with that second command after rooting? Would that keep it from reverting back after reboot?
U must install 'busy box meefik" after you root .then run "disemmcwp reboot"
After that download super su by chainfire..launch it ...it will fail then download super sume 7.3 version and
Run it....after it finishes restart phone and boom super su access

When i click on Software update it just says "Download Software update name and version" and when i click it the page just scroll up automatically... I tried with another model and the software is uploaded, Is like they don't have software update for a ZTE Prestige N9132 because in the page of the Device "Boost Max" there is a software update for that device. I let you 2 screenshots from what i'm saying, Sorry for bad english, I can't speak too much..

This was found by me, I can not believe it was this easy
To turn off nand / system write protection on the ZTE ZMAX and maybe other phones

WORKS ON
ZTE ZMAX 2 (unlocked (LEO) Z955a)
ZTE ZMAX
ZTE CONCORD 2
ZTE Grand x3
ZTE Grand S Pro n9835
ZTE Prestige N9132
ZTE Grand X Max + on Cricket Wireless
ZTE Zinger

DOES NOT WORK ON
ZTE WHIRL 1
ZTE WHIRL 2
ZTE ZMAX 2 (Z958 (LOL) ATT GO)
ZTE Warp Elite
ZTE Max+ n9521

You should use this before you use your rooting utility, like Kingo Root

run this command in adb shell or terminal

reboot disemmcwp

to re-enable write protection issue this command

reboot emmcwpenab

I AM A FARKING GENIUS

Contact zte support thru the phone they will be able to guide you, or give you a direct link to the download..it might even be a typing error on their part .....after that copy it to your SD card and update it thru recovery mode.
