No Call Log Times?...Or Missed Call Notifications???

It is ridiculous that the call log tells you how long ago the person called you instead of simply putting the time in which they called. Is there any way to have it display the time instead? Also, when you miss a phone call unknowingly, there is no notification on the screen except for the microscopic number in the top left corner...And either you remember the number from the corner or delete the notifications every 10 seconds so that you can realize if another call gets missed. This is crazy...I love the phone and everything but my 10 year old nextel had these simple but helpful features...Any ideas?

This smacks of "it doesn't work exactly like my old phone which I replaced because this one is better" rather than "it sucks and here's why".

I'd rather see how long ago the missed call was - there have been a number of times when I looked at a call log and though something happened today when it was really a day ago.

If you drag down the list of missed calls it shows all that have happened since last time you cleared the notifications.

If you get so many calls that you can't take the time in between them to clear the list, your phone addiction problem needs more attention than your phone features.

Edit: Actually, in looking back, I really think NoFinga doesn't know you can drag open the notification bar at the top of the screen...

I like how it tell you how long ago a missed call was but I do have a slight issue... Once 24hrs goes by it just turns to days with no time, that IMO kind of sucks... It would be nice if when you clicked on a call log item it took you to another more detailed screen with date, time, length of call and options to respond

Thanks for no help. I do know how to drag the notification bar, it is stupid having to keep on deleting the notifications. The beginning of your post makes no sense. If I had a phone addiction problem I would have as many posts as you do. I appreciate your opinion about the current call log time format in the G1 but it is completely opposed to what my entire post is about. What was the point of your post, to try and put me down? Why would you waste forum space. If you don't have anything to offer, don't even bother stating anything. To all other posters, thanks for the input and help.

Yea I'm definitely with you on that one. Might as well just delete it. I mean the solution to this problem would be for the phone to display ow long ago the call was but also offer (in a sub menu) the actual time the call was made/received. I have no programming experience, so I am hoping someone will offer some kind of alternatives.

Why is it stupid to clear your notifications? I have yet to see a phone that doesn't make you do that. I'd be annoyed if a phone decided after 10 minutes that I didn't need a notification and cleared it for me. The notification is just that, a notification, if you choose to ignore it, that's your business, but don't be mad the phone isn't psychic and clearing your notifications for you.

In fact, on my old nokias, you had to dismiss notifications or you couldn't do anything else. This at least let's you ignore them.

I don't have a phone addiction problem. Hell, I barely use mine. I'm into the android platform because I'm a developer.

I just find it odd that you use the missed calls notification so often that you find it 'ridiculous' that they did something so trivial as doing the math for you to tell you how long ago a call was.

What kind of person gets so many missed calls that he's mad about having to clear the notification area 'every 10 seconds' to see if he's missed another call. If you're already there clearing the notifications, you could just answer the call....

I'm just curious, that's all. You seem to have a truly unique set of use cases for your cell phone that nobody I know has.
