Who has the better insurance???

I'm going to do the pre sale, but I'm having a hard time deciding between Best Buy and Radio Shack. I already went to Best Buy and the one by my house is giving a voucher for the $20 worth of accessories, so its a wash there.

So the next factor I was going to use in deciding where I should go was who has the better insurance plan for the phone. Does anyone have any experience with using the insurance from Best Buy or Radio Shack? Does anyone know which insurance plan is less expensive?

Insurance and Repairs are done through sprint regardless of where you got the phone. Sprint's one of the better carriers when it comes to repairs and replacements (My sister's moment was purchased at Best Buy, and when it broke, she took it to Sprint and they attempted to fix it. They weren't successful but she was given a new phone on the spot). As long as you set up insurance with sprint when you first purchase your phone, you should be fine.

Would you mind scanning the BB voucher and sharing it on here? That's the first I've heard of that. I'd much rather be selecting from BB's collection of accessories.

As for the insurance, I say go with TEP from Sprint. I've never really ever had to use it, but the one time I did, it was prior to when they were requiring a premium to get a new phone. I don't know which is less expensive, but Sprint's is around 7 bux per month. I've known others that went through insurance and were able to get an upgraded version of the phone.

At best buy they have the black tie option. It costs a little more, and you need to pay it upfront, but if something happens to your phone there is no deductible, and they generally give you a loaner phone if yours can be repaired/

That means you have to go to the store.

Sprint is easier. Only instance I've seen the deductable come into play would be when a phone is bricked and Sprint would have to send you an upgrade replacement. My cousin had the Mogul and got his Touch Pro because they didn't have any replacement Moguls, but he had to pay $100. They send you the replacement phone and a RMS package to wherever you need it to be sent and you just put the replacement phone in the bag to be sent back. Done. Then you just activate the new phone like you would any other new phone.

but bestbuy does not cover lost/theft where as sprints does. the $100 deductable with the sprint insurance was only for lost/theft and water damaged phones.

I ended up going through Best Buy. They gave me a form that is blue and white and also comes with a duplicate yellow underneath it. It says "The Recommendation....Best Buy Mobile" at the top, and has different sections and in the one that says "Notes" they wrote "customer to get price match from Radio Shack for $20 worth of accessories" and it is signed.

It looks like an internal form that they use as a worksheet to write down the customer requests and what options they want in their phone so that they can then try to match them up with the right phone.

All new phones come with a one year factory warranty and Sprint will attempt to fix it if it breaks. However if you physically damage it, Sprint will not cover it unless you have TEP. I've heard many nightmare stories of people who take their phones in to be repaired for legitimate problems, but because of physical damage like a crack in the casing or screen, Sprint will blame the problem on the physical defect to avoid fixing it.

The reason I asked about Best Buy Insurance is because I have heard from quite a few people that had a Palm Pre with Best Buy Ins that said they would go in with a complaint and come out with a new phone vs Sprint that would get you a refurb.

I also wanted to know what Radio Shack offered.
