Yes, the Hero can. We can thank HTC for that nugget of goodness, as there isnt multitouch support in 1.5 or 1.6. There was talk of adding it to 2.0. Maybe Google just decided to go ahead with it?

Besides, its not like Apple hasnt stolen patents from other major cell phone manufactures with no intent to pay out royalties.
