Help FoxFi: "Your carrier has blocked WiFi mode in the latest phone update"

Hello,
I joined just to ask you this: Can you elaborate what you mean? Do you mean that I can upgrade my phone and still be able to keep my VZW Unlimited data? I have upgrade just sitting there because I was told if I upgraded I would lose unlimited data. Did you transfer your upgrade to your wife's line through verizon website, then transfer the phone back to your unlimited line? If this works, i'd upgrade in a heartbeat. Thank you in advance!

Sorry for the late reply. Originally when I upgraded, I transferred my upgrade to my wife's line, upgraded her line, transfered her back to her old phone, then put the new phone on my line. This kept my unlimited plan and got me the new phone.

It was a bit unnecessary though. The last time I upgraded, the Verizon rep at the Target store did everything. I made it clear what I wanted to do, and they upgraded my sons 2gb line and moved the phone to my unlimited line. I didn't have to do all the transfers myself.

Help I just upgraded from a galaxy s5 to the moto z force. I've been using foxfi wifi for the past 3 phones. Now since upgrading and installing foxfi on my moto z force it's not working. Getting this message. Attached. Running 6.0.1. I cannot use USB or tethering due to needing the wifi to travel and work with other deviced. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, it looks like this is a fix that will have to come from FoxFi. Did you research the FoxFi capability for the moto z force? I can't find any resource to help you.

We are looking. My husband is pretty good with these things and isn't sure why this isn't working either.. Same. We researched it and I think with it being a newer model there isn't much on it yet. We use our hotspots for our main home WiFi. This is going to suck if it don't work..

As far as I know, Motorola phones going back to the 2013 Droids have not worked with FoxFi for WiFi tethering since the KitKat update at least. No other Droid phone since then has, either.

Trade in the phone for one that will (Galaxy S6?).

Thanks. I looked at the s7 and the lg and I liked the moto way better even after being a full on Samsung owner for many years. We are gonna look at an option for internet mifi first. I have 14 days to decide if I want to trade this in. Foxfi needs to find a fix to expand their software for a wider range of phones.

I ran the update today and I'm happy to report that FoxFi still works perfectly.
Galaxy S6
Verizon (Unlimited)
I downLoaded the foxfi to my s6 edge. I can turn on the mobile hotspot and devices can connect to it. But they are not able to gain internet access. What do I need to done for devices connecting to the hotspot able to have internet access?

Ok herd is how I went around the same problem but with cricket . I had an unlimited plan but they want to charge me for hotspot 10 dl a month for 5 gb foxfi down also on cricket so I did this and Crack them with 256 gb on that month . Maybe someone can figure this out.
First I created a new APN(this is on cricket phone)
the new APN I name it hotspot I copy exactly everything from my original apn and add as proxy proxy.cricketwireless.net wich didn't appear on my original apn . I got the apn settings online and copy and fill the blanks wich are the proxy and apn type had 2 more wich I think was suplex and something else . Anyway . I change the apn to the one I just created and tried activating hotspot and . But! CAME ON then of course was no data so while hotspot it was on I switched back to my original cricket apn and hotspot stayed on . Now when I try activating hotspot with my original apn doesn't let me displaying a message contact bla bla bla and pay us bla bla bla at bla bla .com wich is the same that verizon does now here's the catch ... Verizon has the apn settings blocked wich doesn't let you create a new APN or modify the existing one . I bet you if someone can get the apn block off mayb by rooting the phone and find the right settings I'm guessing it should work and bum! CRACK 'EM FOO ..PLEASE if someone is able to do this let the world know like I just did with the cricket stuff .I don't think no one has talked about it too much if not at all . Enjoy . :)
