Hey all ive noticed that some people like myself are not happy with video quality on the htc incredible. i've also noticed that some people are having no problems with their video quality. Compared to the moto droid its video difference is the difference between choppy pixilated standard def and hd video. I realize neithe phone displays hd but just using that to help compare what im seeing in comparison. Youtube videos are better if you hit menu and select high quality...but even then the moto droids video is still much better.

So question....... since some people seem to be expierincing poor vid quality and others are not... this kind of sounds software related, is it possible to reinstall phone software or even just the flash lite software? Thinking this potentially could help.

Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. With such a great phone it seems like something is wrong

Hmm it seems weird that sub 20, posters end up posting threads that seem like they are coming into our forums just to troll.

This could very well be a legitimate poster, but it smells sort of fishy.

I can assure you I am not a troll. Just new to Android, but understand the hesitation people may see with my post count status.

I have already switched one Inc out for a blown speaker upon receipt. No biggie, but this video thing perplexes me. I'm going to try to bring it in to the store to see some other Inc's running video and compare.

i'm using handbrake to copy some of my DVD collection to my Incredible. Iron Man, at 720x480 resolution on my Incredible looks, well, incredible.

Crystal clear, ultra sharp, bright and beautiful.

I also have some episodes of Metalocalypse on it at 652x340 i think and those look great as well.

What are you doing to put video onto your incredible? what software, what settings?

I'm wondering if this can be software related and if there will be any app that'll increase the quality of our video recordings in the future. I've already read in other threads that the Evo pretty much has mostly identical hardware to the Incredible aside from being larger, the screen, and the extra camera.. but their main camera is also 8mp and can record 720p videos.

Their 720p video recordings are getting pretty bad reviews.

My video looks great except when it's on normal quality on youtube. Not sure what you guys are talking about specifically.

Should be more specific about what kind of videos and where you are watching them from. SD card? Internet? Youtube app..

But to touch on greenrolaids comment - there are a couple users today flaming on the incredible vs moto droid so this is very fishy could definitely be a troll.

I am not a troll, nor do I even own a moto droid. A friend of mine that I work with has the droid and we were comparing phones thats it. Not saying the droid is better than our phone at all, just saying that my phone is for some reason putting out fair quality (pixilated) video. Its abundantly clear it is just my phone. Wow, twice being called a troll in one post, thanks

sorry, forgot to mention that in last post. I am just utilizing the youtube app, and had also tried using youtube right through browser (app works better). My very unscientific experiment was holding the moto droid and inc right next to each other and playing the same video off of youtube. Mine was pixelated and pixels froze on screen until movement of video caused the pixels to change.

Again, it is not my cause to bring any discontent, I am really enjoying my Inc. for all reasons except for this particular thing with what I believe to be an isolated incident.
