I'm trying to see if anyone else is having this probem. After updating to 2.1, now my phone's screen automatically locks after every single phone call. This is very annoying as Now after each call, I must draw my code to unlock the screen...has anyone found out how to prevent this? I don't see a setting anywhere for it.

I get it every few seconds it locks just not phone calls. I even changed the timeout time in the settings. But it just comes way to fast.

In your case you may be just hitting the end button twice.

Nope, not hitting the end button twice, plus I use the on screen end button.

Also, I'm getting the same glitch you're getting now. It randomly locks itself and I have to put in the drawing code. Also, I've noticed many other bugs. This "Official" 2.1 release is extremely buggy. If it weren't for wanting apps that require 2.0+ I'd consider going back to 1.5 until it was more stable. This is defiantly my last Samsung. The EVO can't come out fast enough.

And I'm sure the EVO will be perfect without a single bug when it is released...just like the Hero.

HTC has shown that they are at least willing to support their phones, and are capable of putting out excellent products (See the Incredible). Name one good Samsung Android device(or ANY good Samsung device) that is out. I only have this silly Moment because I got it free when my Touch Pro crapped out. Face it HTC>>Samsung on smartphones.

That's just an opinion. There are many posts about people who switched from the Hero to the Moment and are far happier with the Moment. Of course there are posts the other way too. No matter what the phone is, if you go to forums to read about it you are going to hear people complaining about it...because few people seek out forums if their phone is working fine. It all comes down to what issues you are willing to put up with in a phone...becauses it is pretty much guaranteed there will be issues of some sort with every phone these days.

The Hero and Moment both got 1 update while on 1.5. The Moment has got its 2.1 update...the Hero is still waiting. How is that better support from HTC?

Hero's update is reportedly ready, just on hold from Sprint while they update Moments.

Again, name one top notch Samsung phone product that is out. I can name one for HTC and Motorola. Moto Droid kills the Moment, even though they both run Vanilla and have keyboards. Samsung just can't make good phones(Instinct, lol). And the GalaxyS looks like it will be a joke with that iCopy UI.

Like I tried to say in my last reply...it's all opinion depending on what you are looking for in a phone and what you expect it to do. I had the Instinct before the Moment and while there were issues, it wasn't anything that made so angry that I felt the need to complain about it and say I was never going to buy a Samsung product again. And in the case of the Instinct, Sprint was the one responsible for the software problems with it. No phone will ever be perfect for everyone because everyone expects different things from their phone and use them in different ways.

My girlfriend has the Motorola Droid through Verizon. It's definately better than the moment in that it has multi-touch and live wall-papers/3d gallery. However, the droid costs $200 with a two year contract that ends up costing several hundred dollars more compared to Sprint's service. My moment cost ~10$ and the only thing I really am disappointed with is that there is no multi-touch, I still feel like I have a hell of a phone though.

I had this issue when I was using DD10. Didn't matter if I ended the call or the other person did. As soon as the call disconnected, the screen locked. That was so annoying. I figured something was wrong with the code for the lock screen in the leak. It would actually sometimes dim the screen and lock on me as I was entering the unlock pattern. Now that's annoying. Since I've flashed DE03, I have not had this issue (either one).

Very interesting, thank you. This is what's happening to me. So. annoying. I've had the sreeen dim, and lock on me as I am putting in the code as well.

Since the EVO launch is so close, I'm just going to take the annoyance rather than bother with a re-flash.

I'm not sure if there is a setting to control this. As soon as my calls are ended & I take the phone from my ear and look at it, the screen's blank. At this point I have to think now, what do I do? Really, the only option is to press the end call button, then swipe to unlock the phone and usually be then, the call has ended. Very disturbing.

Yeah, it shuts off the screen using the accelerometer to save battery during long calls. It's a hgood feature, but pretty laggy. Many times when I move th phone away from my ear to check something, it takes the screen a good 2-4 seconds to respond alnd light up...sometimes it doesn't light back up at all and Ihave to do as you describe.

No setting to turn this off or configure it that I could find.
