Later this year we'll have an iPhone on Verizon. Apple's already placed a large manufacturing order for CDMA iPhones...not that I particularly want an iPhone, but I recognize that a lot of people do.

The EVO is going to be sick, I don't understand why we couldn't have dual camera lenses? I mean the phones ARE pretty much the same phone, almost. The iPhone 4/HD, I don't think there is much of anything Apple can do to persuade me towards an iPhone, I never had 1 and would never leave VZW.

I originally wanted an iphone, but wasnt willing to leave Verizon. Thought id go incredible till one pops up on VZW, then was thinking of returning this and wait for a summer announcement for the 4g, now I'm thinking theres really nothing the iPhone can do that this can't. Was tempted by the evo 4g but again, Verizon.

Indeed.

For three years people have been telling me (and I generally consider myself well informed on the topic of cellphones) that the iPhone is coming out on Verizon. All of them seem to disregard Jobs' "magical" deal with Ma Bell.

At&t would be able to sue Apple (and win) at the very least, and I could see them making a case against Big Red as well. But lets not let legally binding arbitration deter anyone from dreams of "childlike wonder" and magical pink unicorns.

Why do people just continue to blah blah blah! The iPhone is not coming anywhere near Verizon for a LONG TIME! The earliest is around 2012. Might as well be 2020, because that's a long time in the phone world. Read up nay sayers! at&t signed a 5 year deal with Apple in 2007, and thats that! However big red has a big android family, and at&t is forbid to not have any real Android love to compete with there baby....The iPhone! It'll happen, but not for awhile, and not till LTE is up and running in a large variety of cities...

And why do people make absolute claims like this? We don't know what the future holds. They could very well bring a "similar" device to Verizon with a new name to get around the exclusive issue. We saw that Apple ordered 10 million CDMA models.... who knows who/what that is for. Isn't that what Palm did with the Pre line? I don't care either way for Apple's iPhones... just saying we don't know either way so let's not make absolute claims

Agreed. The Evo is getting way too much hype in my opinion. I never video chat and wouldn't need HDMI either. The larger size is also something I am not interested in. The Incredible is basically everything that I want and the Evo is everything that I don't. I know it's personal preference, but I just don't see all the fuss.

You couldn't PAY me to go on Sprint for bad service and battery sucking guinea pig wimax and too big.

But no now that I have a phone I love I don't research phones much. I have 20 months to enjoy what I have and lte won't be until 2011

From incredible
The Evo will not be better, Its the same hardware we already have and it cant fit in your pocket. Whats the pint?

I think the screen on the Evo/HD2 look great, but if it's going to be the same resolution, I don't see the point. Front-facing camera, HDMI, and 4G somewhat useful, but I can't wait to hear the repeat of "the battery life sucks!", "oh get a seidio battery and it'll last 10x longer!", "can't wait for the steinheil screen protector!", and so on...

If nothing else, hopefully it'll bring 720p recording to the Incredible.

One of the greatest annoyances with Android is that since there are so many phones out there we end up with a perpetual competition as to which is best.

Not in the slightest. Could the EVO be better? Sure, but I don't really care. The Inc is the shit, I love it, and won't trade it for anything.

What he said. I guess if you dont have to worry about money or switching from carrier to carrier, always getting the latest and greatest isnt a problem for you. However, I dont think that is practical for most people. The Incredible is an excellent phone, though the battery issue is annoying. While I may look at what other phones are coming out, im not going to rush out and spend hundreds of dollars on the something else anytime soon.

Some people are just never satisfied. There will always be something better. Why waste time, money, effort in rushing out to getting phone after phone and whatever other tech gadget people do this with? People will rush out for the Evo, even switch carriers just to do it, and then a couple months later if that, something else will come out. Some of those same people will rush out to get it.
