How to save battery life with Android 1.6 on BH2 ?

As I just got my phone with installed rom 1.6 for the Behold 2 , I am frustrating when the battery life drains so fast after last night .
I was playing a bit with the WIFI , and the battery status bar was still less then half bar . After I woke up today , the battery has shown that the battery is less than 5% . I did turn off my wifi and using only 2g network to save battery life. I clicked on "why", it showed the Green Bar with the word Android System 95% . What does this mean , and how can I save more battery life since I don't use it the whole night . So the phone suppose to be less than half bar battery life at least.

1.Putting the phone in sleep can save battery life or not on the Behold II ?
2.What are some ways that can save the battery life on the Behold II ?
3.Does the charging technique can at least save some part the of the battery life ? If so , How do I charge my Behold II ? Leaving it all drain out, turning off the phone and then charge it ?

Here are some ways that I have read in androidforums
1. use spare app
2. use task manager
I didn't try these two.

Thank you for all of your information .

Sleep always saves battery life.

If you don't need them on, turn off WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS (I tend to only have GPS on WHILE I'm driving, and WiFi ONLY when I'm at the house or office)

Other than that, I average 20+ hours on most of the 1.6 ROMs.

The Behold II out of the box (which was 1.5) was a bit of a battery killer just due to all of the extra software running (TouchWiz), but I was still getting 12+ hours even then.

So how do I put it in Sleep Mode , Just leave the phone alone . I felt so bad that I can't get Vibration with Android 1.6 BHold2 .

Can anyone get it to work for the vibration ?

Turn 2G off if you don't have data service plan or if you just don't use it. I don't have it so I went in settings and took it off. I use wifi when im at home so yea saves LOTS of battery life!

I can't turn off 2G in setting at Android 1.6 , it said turn on 2G to save battery , so I click on that which is the phone will turn off 3g and turn on EDGE-2G.

Are there any specific Apps to turn off both 2g and 3g at the same time so that the BeholdII can save the battery life ?

That means it's running the galaxy rom not the stock behold2 1.6 rom! Vibration will never work on the galaxy roms if that's what you want flash stock or no twiz rom to your phone.

I don't even know what is flash and twiz on my phone . All I know is that it is android 1.6 on my phone info. If it is galaxy , then can you please show me how to make it vibrate again ?
Thank you I really need this function .

Like I said galaxy will never have vibrate! Look through the stickied threads at the top of the all things root section and follow the steps in either the behold2 factory 1.6 or behold2 1.6 no twiz threads all of those roms have working vibrate. Unless you change you rom aka firmware you can't have vibrate or the nice samsung camera interface.

I didn't do anything with this phone , When I bought this phone , it already like that .
Here are my phone current spec .
Firmware 1.6
Kernel Version 2.6.29
Donut.BH_MAN_R8

I really don't want to messing up my phone . So can you please explain the background step-by-step of how to do what I need to do before I ready the instruction in the BHII factory 1.6 or behold2 1.6 no twiz.

Like what do I need to do , what should I not do before change back to factory 1.6

I KNOW!!! The person who had your phone before flashed galaxy1.6 r8 to the phone! It is not the way the phone was made. The phone came from samsung with android 1.5! It has already been flashed which means factory warrenty is already voided. You might as well go ahead now and flash the rom YOU want instead of using the rom someone else picked for you. Just understand you are NOT using a stock behold right now and that's why vibrate does not work. Just follow the steps in ones of those threads and you'll be fine.

I understand everything that you have said , I know that I am not using original android 1.5 . All I am asking is that what I need to do now to install factory android 1.6 which containing vibration ? I am new to this , so I can't follow the complicated instruction in the thread , I'm just asking you if you can give me some easy instruction ( or how to FLASH ) before I go through the instruction of BH_MAN's factory android 1.6

you can save batterry by doing this

this is what i do ...

1. put on 2g
2. turn off wifi, bluetooth, gps, when you dont need it
3. lower the brightness to the lowest
4. make screen timeout on 15 secs (lowest)
5. Get task killer , task manager, spare app . etc.
6. get a baterry widget off the market . ( because will tell you the precise baterry life ) .

i think thats some but if have some more please share

You have to download ODIN, it comes with the roms once you download.
you have to have your behold ii in pc mode in settings.
you have to know how to put your phone into download mode(when the instructions say so)
I would reccomend the no twiz behold II busy box 1.6 rom, its really easy to install. just make sure to read up on it and make sure not to disconnect it.

By the way, learning how to flash your phone is going to be very important because tmobile will not help you anymore since they themselves have no idea of what rooting is or what these roms are.

but yes, the rom i recommended has vibration, it has google navigation, i just updated the google navigation through the android market using that rom so yes you can still receive updates from the apps you download from the app market.

once you have downloaded odin and have you rom of your choice, put your phone to Samsung pc mode, then plug it in and mount it.

then click here and follow these instructions
