Backing up data

Hi Everyone,

I have been using my Sprint Hero for a little while now. As it turns out, I am starting to run out of room with my internal memory on the phone with the data it has. I would like to back up the data (especially the built-in Calendar data) to my PC or at least my SD card on the phone.

Can someone tell me how to backup the data?

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Nikhil Kulkarni

I am from Sprite

so i am in the Sprite Camp

Android Backup from Sprite restores much much more than any other old Android system

We are pushing the boundaries at Sprite, over the next weeks you will get not only the best backup system, the only system than can migrate from other OS's, but much more tools will be included for free. The cool thing is they are built by a 20+ staff company, who can deliver on support also

Do tell, which app you went with? Is it free?

Thanks for your response.

Actually, I went with all three of your suggestions...here's why...

- mounting via USB Connection (this is free, of course): I found this really helpful for transferring files such as, Microsoft Office files and music files that I work with daily and transfer between my laptop and my Hero.

- MyBackup Pro: With this one, I decided to go with the Pro version. I found that the Pro version is only $5.00, so I decided to go for it. This program is really good for backing up the installed apps/data to the SD card. But, please note, it saves it in a specific file readable only by MyBackup/Pro. Nevertheless, I really like the program.

- ASTRO File Manager (this is also free): While I am 'on the go', this program gives me the ability to work with the files that I need. It also has a good 'backup' feature that backs up almost all data. But, be sure to go for the latest version, which includes the 'backup' feature.

These are just my thoughts on the subject.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Nikhil
