I'm hoping estrongs will check in here, or that someone can help me figure this out.

I have installed the latest version of Estrongs file manager, and I am trying to connect to my work PC using the LAN tab.

I chose "New Server" and input the ip address and the login and password for my work PC (Windows 7 pro 64bit).

Estrongs successfully shows me the folders on my PC, including the ones I have specifically set up to share, but when I press on one of these shared folders (or any folder or drive) I get the error message "Login failure: Try new user name/password?"

No matter how many times I reenter the login & password (including with and without the domain) I get the error message, and I can't get in to those folders.

Sorry for late reply.
It might be some security settings in your system.
We've tested Windows7 64bit with default settings without problem.

Could someone explain to me how this is done? I installed estrongs and clicked Scan and it doesn't find anything. My laptop and phone are both connected to the same Wifi router. Do I need to setup something else in Windows (I'm running 64-bit Windows 7)?

I tried googling but I couldn't find anything.

I manually set up a user account in Windows 7 (user accounts => create new account => standard user - and then set the permissions). I then manually set up the server ip address, user name and password in ES Strong and it created an icon. All has been running well for me.

That worked perfectly, thanks! I'm amazed at this program, better than Astro!

Nope, it can't do anything that needs root access.

Yup. Root explorer is the must have for making a protected (read only) directory read/writable (of course only if you are rooted) and do those other manipulations involving system directories. Maybe EStrong will incorporate that (as he has added many other great features) into his program and then he will really blow everything else out of the water.
