Tisk tisk, over evaluating and over hyping 2.1

Its funny to watch this board go from omg I need 2.1 to bitching about 2.1. Simply put its human nature why you guys are complaining about it but notice that you are putting too much thought into this upgrade.

Sure there are clearly evident bugs and complaints
http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/78658-report-your-2-1-ota-error-bugs-complaints-here.html But this can also be blamed on over hyping and evaluating the phone since the upgrade.

Things such as battery life and the perceived notion of speed could be a let down due to such anticipation of thinking 2.1 would be incredible( no pun intended)

Anyway who else thinks that this board has taken a persona of negativity due to these traits of the eris users?

I agree with this, and I was actually going to make a thread about it too. I installed the update yesterday and I was very underwhelmed. I'm irritated by the contact "linking" feature, as well as it not getting my Facebook contact pictures as easily as 1.5 did. I have not noticed any speed improvement, I still have the dialer lag, and my battery seems to actually be worse. Lastly, I keep getting random Force Closes on stuff I've never even heard of (com.htc.bg or something?).

The only real things I like so far are the Navigator (which is absolutely awesome) and the new Market. Other than that, I have yet to see what the big deal is...

Never really b!tched too much about the update taking sooooooo long ,even though when I bought my Eris, the day it came out, the Verizon Rep. told me 2.1's just around the corner.

So far , the wait was worth it, a lot faster response, Nav, err.........prettier menus and it's made me put off using my wife's upgrade to get the Incredible, at least until Dec. when mines available !

I think with any OS upgrade, there will be bugs ! Look at all the windows updates you receive weekly !

Now where's my speed dial gone to , after the update, dammit !

I find the transitions to be smoother to each screen and navigation is kick ass.Nevertheless I am sorta sick of reading negative posts so I am going into browsing mode and coming less to this board until the bitching ends if it ever does
