I5700 Galaxy Spica/lite officially gets Android 2.1

Also try to send an MMS, and receive one too.
Member rwZephyr is from Canada too. He got his phone working. You might need to ask him for his APN settings etc.
I never recieve or send MMS's so I dont care about them. but other than that, things seem to be working fine. i'll update you guys if I run into any issues. I'm happy Kies solved all my driver issues that I've been having for the past month. lol.

Guys, question here... it takes too long to boot. Is that normal?

Second one: By mistake I manually added an operator... and now I have 2 names (when lock the screen, at right top corner I have 2 operators). Is only a "visual" issue, as it does not affect the phone... but any way to remove it and leave only one? (no hard reset please, I have just installed 2.1 and a lots of app).

I really don't understand how android 2.1 is on my daughter in law's Galaxy that she bought from 3 but I still have 1.5 on my tmobile Galaxy. Tmobile can't help. I emailed Samsung and they were no help. I bought the phone for bluetooth but no file exchange available until 2.0. Also I only have a mac so won't be able to use pc studio to update when it comes anyway. Why do they use microsoft based stuff anyway when people want Android to avoid microsoft bugs and poor security. Surely if the update is available anywhere then it should be available everywhere, or am I being thick? I would understand if it was a different phone altogether but they are the same and we live in the same country so that is not the reason either, in spite of Samsung saying it was only available in Germany - tell that to 3 cos they clearly have it in the uk.

3 shipped all i5700 with 2.1 as standard. T-Mobile didn't as they had the phone as an exclusive to them for a couple of months.

So we T-Mobile customers got it early but got the older OS - wern't we lucky ;-)

Problem with updates via T-Mobile is not really known to be perfectly honest. If you wait long enough you will get 2.1 on your T-Mobile i5700 or you can do it yourself - just takes a bit of reading here to find all the answers. To be honest I'm happy waiting for T Mobile to get their arses into gear...well to the end of the month anyway!

Me: When is t-mobile going to release the samsung galaxy portal
TmobileUKhelp: Hi Chris, we are currently testing the update and will release it once it has passed testing. We will tweet once it is available. Thanks
Me: will it be this week?, this month?, this year?, Each software release will follow a test plan, that plan will have a target date, ???
TmobileUKhelp: Hi Chris, I am not involved in the testing but I do know that we are currently testing the update to ensure that it works on our network.
TmobileUKhelp: I am unable to provide you with a date but once we have been informed of one we will tweet. Thanks
