Is anyone else flooding Sprint's email help with complaints?

I'm having a pretty good time going back and forth with the CS reps who are trying to convince me that my data experience on the EVO without 4G justifies paying the $10 DATA fee. They even compared it to paying for a first-class ticket on a plane.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm going to slap down my $10/month instantly, but I think it's a load of crap what Sprint is doing to those of us not in a 4G area.

Well considering I have unlimited data on my plan I think it's BS were being charged another 10 bucks. That being said it's not gonna stop me from pickin up my Evo from BB. I just pay it.

Well I've never been charged for going over. Last month I had over 10gb of data use on my line alone.

1. there are like ten topics about this. go post in one of them please before you make a new one. its extremely annoying and just cluters the forum.

2. if you buy a blackberry you have to have a 20 dollar internet charge correct? all high end phones require data packages. the current everything data plan was made before a 4g device was ever even made. you are getting a phone that has features no other phone has on the market. i.e., video chat and 4g coverage.

3. the ten dollars extra puts your plan about even with what an iphone or an incredible user pays. but you get ten times faster internet....

i honestly dont see a point right now...probably the only people they would be receiving these emails from are people who have been following the evo4g...the general population probably has little to no idea about it and won't start complaining (if they do) until after the release date when sprint actually starts to advertise

agreed robg2008. i seriously cant believe that 10$ is such a huge tragedy to start complaining(annoying) sprint. if the wifi hotspot was mandatory then id complain, but 10$ is something that im sure wont leave you bankrupt and it it is, then maybe you shouldn't be buying a new phone.

Considering that I don't have 4G here, no; I do not know. I've only heard of their "unlimited" 5GB cap being lifted, but I've never gone anywhere near that, so it is a non-factor. So please enlighten me on how this $10 fee is going to make my service so much more awesome than it is with my Hero.

you are going from a 3g only capable device to a device that can use 4g.

honestly dude. maybe you shouldnt be getting an EVO and not because of the ten dollars but because you dont even realize how revolutionary this phone is and everything its giving you the power to do.

They probably will have some more info on May 18??

If it is not want you want to hear or think it is not something you should pay for then bomb them..

Hey, there's a difference between "capable" and "using." My Hero is capable of a lot of Sprint optional services that I never use, but they don't charge me for them. It's the principle of the matter, damn it! If I'm never going to use 4G, I shouldn't be stuck paying for it!

And I also said that the $10 fee will not stop me from getting my EVO and loving it, I just find it asinine that they would charge people outside of 4G areas for 4G data, and I would like Sprint to know that it upsets people.

I can see why some are upset about the extra 10 dollar fee,sprint is taking advantage of being the first with 4g and the other features but lets be honest if 4g is not in your city why pay for it,and what separated sprint from the competition was there data plan now that extra fee put it right there next to the competition even if its still a little cheaper.NOW be careful what you wish for,you give then an inch next they want a yard.

I'm in a South Carolina town with 50,000 people. You seriously think I will get 4G any time in the next YEAR?

Possibly.. The vendors especially the cable companies want to use it to reach non-metro areas so they can provide internet, phone services etc.. Which of course once clear builds out those areas Sprint will have access to those areas for service..

Sprint isn't forcing the fee on you. You have the option of not getting the EVO and getting a different phone or voting with your wallet and just not doing business with Sprint.

Myself, I'll be getting the EVO and paying the fee. I'd rather not have to pay $10 extra, but that is what they are charging.

If I was going to put the effort into writing someone it would probably be to my local utility company for constantly raising rates rather than on a luxury item.

Again, it is about the principle of the matter: being charged for a feature that I cannot utilize. If I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't be able to afford an EVO in the first place. Other people starving has absolutely nothing to do with this.
