What do you want to know about the LG G6?

Does it offer the option of adoptable storage?

UK residents are only offered 32gb storage compared to you guys over the pond.

Is the UI still a horrible florescent blue/teal? My only other LG has been the G4 and the UI is atrocious. I want to know if it's improved.

I can already tell you the UI is better. I've used the G5 and V20. You can download themes now, which is nice.

Actually I think the USA also only gets 32GB (but with wireless charging, which I personally don't care about). I'm pretty sure the 64GB is an Asian regional exclusive.

Headphone audio quality is something I'm interested in. And how much storage space is actually available to the user (something reviews rarely bother to mention).

I have a Verizon LG G6 that I got on Friday. So far it's really slick. Coming from a Galaxy S6, I can see great improvements.
  • Nougat is pretty smooth for the most part, coming from MM on my S6, it's hard to tell if the improvements are the phone or OS.
  • Fingerprint sensor on back is awesome, barely have to touch it and it responds to my index finger quickly and accurately (I set it up for either hand).
  • Battery life is real good - with moderate use I was able to get more than 36 hrs. Granted there was a lot of idle time for it this weekend, but still far better than the S6.
  • It's actually just about the same width as the S6, but obvioulsy taller. The new longer display seem pretty good. I actually used multi-window this morning and had Facebook and Authy open at the same time on the screeen and it worked (and looked) very well.

Questions I have for @Joe
  • Is it my imagination or does it not have an LED for notifications?
  • Every once in awhile I getting a real lag when I open some apps - so far it has happened in Friendly, Lastpass, and Inbox.
  • How do you download themes for it? - Not a major deal, because I use Nova, but just curious.

I want to know if any features have been disabled on the Verizon version vs other carriers. So far, have read elsewhere the FM radio is disabled on Verizon, enabled on T-Mobile. Verizon removed some cool features on the LG G4 when it was released in 2015 (smart settings, themes, etc). Had I known about that back then I would have waited for an unlocked version in order to retain those features. Anyway, if Verizon does that again, my plan is to go unlocked or switch to T-Mobile for the G6.

Have there been problems with applications running with Nougat?

I received the Nougat update on my S7 on 31 Mar. Several problems reared their ugly heads. Some examples are sensitivity to touch (Unable to answer a call), syncing disabled for K9 mail, No notification sounds for email arrival (k9 mail and Blue mail), No sound notification from Pro weather alert (failed only once), and False notification to Gmail Icon badge (Indicated 1 email when there wasn't one several times - No notification sound).

Verizon Wireless told me to contact Samsung support. Samsung told me to take the phone to Best Buy for a software refresh.

My solution will be to get a new phone with Nougat available at release. The G6 and Pixel
are possibilities.

whitehat,

I had this problem with K9 Mail app on my G5 with Marshmallow and then Nougat, and then with my new G6 with Nougat. It is because of Android "Doze". Read here:

http://www.greenbot.com/article/311...o-know-about-doze-mode-in-android-nougat.html

You need to go to Battery Optimization, find K9 Mail and select "Don't optimize"

K9 is working fine now on my G6.

Thanks, My google searches had already turned up that info. The S7 doesn't have optimization as an option. IN Battery I set Power Saving mode off and added the apps
to the unmonitored apps list which is supposed to prevent the apps from going to sleep.

From my calls it sounds like Samsung wants to refresh the phones to Marshmallow instead of fixing the problems Hence my interest in a new phone.

Hey guys. I'm going to be getting the LG G6 this week. Just wondering what you'd like to know about it. Ask any questions you have and I'll try to answer them here or on Phandroid.

Who else is getting the G6?!

Has LG solved the "bootloop" problem? (I now have a G4). I gather it was present in the V10, V20 and maybe G5. For a high end phone I'm limited to G6 or S8.
