Running leak 2.1v3. Recently I've been missing a lot of calls and I've been wondering why, I decided to test call myself using my house phone and calling my Eris. When I called, it rang probably 5 times before my phone received the call and the ringtone went off. Anyone know the problem? Me missing a lot of calls is getting annoying.

I've had this happen occasionally. It's not all the time. I even lowered my slot cycle, but it didn't matter.

I lowered the slot cycle on mine and it made all the difference in the world. It's now on one, and I get two rings max on the other end before it rings on mine. I highly recommend doing that to see what happens. If you don't know how to do it, it's:

##778, call
Choose Edit Mode
Password 000000 (6 zeros)
Then choose "Modem Settings"
Slot Cycle Index is the first choice, click on it, and change it to 1
Then hit Menu, and select "Commit Modifications"
If you don't do that, it won't change anything.
The phone will restart, and you're done.

BTW, I did this when I was on 2.1V1, then V2, and now V3, and I didn't have to change it again, it stayed the same.

Hopefully this works! If not thanks anyway though man, appreciate the help. Will post back if it works or not just incase anyone else is having this problem.

I have KayosFroyo v32 and when I dial ##778 it rings and I get a verizon message saying that the number is not valid. Did you do something different?

Do a Nandroid backup of Kaos Froyo, flash (or do a Nandroid restore of) one of the 2.1 ROMs - Plain Jane, say - and do the programming there. Then Nandroid restore back to Kaos and the slot cycle programming will stick.
