I have grown to hate this phone. Got it because of the specs, price and typically in this tier root ability. Unfortunately I have had enough

Multitouch problems, battery charging problems, ZERO root in sight and now I just got a damn OTG cable and the phone doesn't even support it.

So eff it. I'm selling this damn thing and getting a Stylo 2 plus. I'm done.

Do your research, my friend. I have two TMobile Stylo 2+ phones and to me, they're a disappointment. Worse than the G Stylo.

One is upgraded to Nougat, and one is staying on Marshmallow because the 7.X upgrade wrecked my fast charging ability and it's very unstable now. The phone with Marshmallow, drum roll...... has GPS problems, can't even use Maps now.

If you get a Stylo 2+ with Nougat right out of the box, I don't think you can root it.

Just wondering why everyone says they are getting stylo to ditch this shi-tty phone, who honestly cares?

I am giving up coz I thought I was gonna win the freaking axon phone coz of their 12 days of giving and I got NOTHING! Damn you ZTE. What a waste. Now I want to delete all my RTs...

Just offering friendly advice! The Stylo 2+ is worse LOL, at least buy a better phone :D

Oh I am not buying any new phone. I am stuck with this shi-tty phone unfortunately. What I meant I am giving up is being active in their community website hoping they would give me free anything. I did not even got a freaking tshirt for all my troubles. F that.

What is it with the Stylos and the GPS. I had a Metro OG Stylo and it was fine except for the crap GPS

Wouldn't it be wise to wait for the stylo 3 plus?

Yup. The only reason I don't still use them daily is because of the unreliable GPS. The two original G Stylos I have run better than the newer ones... The only upgrade they really got between the two models was a fingerprint scanner, stylus I/O sensor and an ugly brown housing. At least 2nd has themes you can change?

There was speculation that they are still going to come with 2GB RAM, but we'll see. Out of the 10+ LG Androids I've owned, the Motion and Nexus 5 (still use) have been great. Every other one was a flop. Recently, ZTE and Kyocera haven't really earned too much praise from me either.

That's exactly the phone I'm considering. I've pored through enough reviews on YouTube. It's definitely faster overall VS the Stylo 2. It's new enough (came out in April this year I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks) and is on sale some places, so I think I can splurge for this one. It's already on Nougat, so this phone should last long enough to get at least one OS upgrade. The other thing I love about the 3 is that the buttons are on the side! I can't tell you how much I love this.

My LG G Stylo is really beginning to age fast... I still have a Tribute, rooted with Monstro's ROM. That one still works way better than my LG G Stylo. That original G has already been randomly freezing on me for the last couple of weeks. I've even tried running it restored stock, and it's not fixing any problems, so I know it's time for me to upgrade. I've had mine for a year and a half. That's the longest I've had a daily driver recently! Anyway, I should be purchasing the 3 soon.

The only weakness for me seems to be the camera in low light. It does seem a bit grainy, but that hasn't always bothered me. Part of me will always be a film person at heart, so I know how to use grain to my advantage. Easy way to get the old school look. :)

My verdict, just spend a bit more for the 3! It's a real bargain if you're a gamer on a budget, but the rest of us deserve a responsive (and hopefully reliable) smartphone!

I would save a few hundred dollars more ($400) and get the Axon 7

Also Axon 7 actually has the bands to support Sprint but Sprint won't allow it on their network

Sprint/Cricket/Boost won't allow anything they don't sell or haven't previously sold on their network, period.

Verizon, same. Includes no Nexus models (except Nexus 7 LTE) on their network even though any given phone fully supports the CDMA/LTE bands.
