So, my first real smartphone was the HTC One m9+ supreme camera Edition. I bought it in 2015, and absolutely enjoyed it. It came with Google and HTC made apps. I enjoyed the HTC apps like gallery, scribble, editor, streaming video player app (to watch live streaming content online websites or device), HTC sense keyboard and so on.

Well, fast forward to 2017 and I upgraded to the u11 and so far, I hate it!! Majority of the HTC apps I enjoyed in the m9+ sc are not supported. I cannot view live streaming content via websites, because HTC service video player is not supported. I downloaded numerous video playing apps and none allowed me to watch streaming content straight from a website. It uses TouchPal and not HTC sense keyboard. Touchpal freaking sucks!! I connected my Asus smartwatch to the u11, and I cannot use my watch as a mic, when I cancel a call via my watch, it's still active on the dang phone!! The micro SD card keeps crashing here and there. None of these problems I encountered on the m9+ sc. No gallery, no scribble, no Polaris, no nothing.

Can someone please help me out and help me solve some of these problems.

I've got the One M9 (regular old US version) looking to likely get the U11 soon-ish. I really like the HTC or Sense applications as well and I'm not looking forward to losing them and having to re-acquire them. They started phasing out their redundant applications in favor for Google ones after the M9 and during the HTC 10.

One of the beautiful things about the Android ecosystem is that if you don't like the keyboard you can install a new (or old) one. If you want a different Gallery you can install one and use it instead. You should also be able to find Polaris and Scribble as well if you really would like to. (the HTC live video player might be a tricky one get)

The MicroSD card could maybe use a careful re-seat. Did you accidentally touch any of the contacts on it (the gold strips of metal on the back). The contacts don't like skin oils.
When changing to a new device its also a great idea to back up your card data to a computer and then format it clean before putting it in the new device. Once the new device has re-formatted the card and initialized it with the basic file and folder structure then you can carefully begin adding your files back onto it in the new file structure.
One last thing to think about is possibly getting a new MicroSD for your new device. I tend to do this and keep the old card in a USB reader and use it as a thumb drive/mass storage for everyday useage. (if you get a new card, stay away from 3rd party online markets for purchase as there are too many counterfeits and fakes in the market)

Since I last posted, the SD card continued to crash even after cleaning it with a cloth, I tried restarting my phone and it froze until the battery died hours later. TouchPal still sucks. I can't find the keyboard HTC used in the one m9+. I still cannot view stream content from websites. Apps/phone will crash at times. Now I see why this phone was getting bad reviews from customers. FYI, I can find the apps from the one m9+ but it is not supported on the u11.

This phone just plain sucks. I'm seriously thinking about returning it and getting my money back.

Does anyone know when the HTC u11 international will be released? I have the HTC u11 US unlocked and absolutely hate this phone. It doesn't support any of the apps I enjoyed from my m9+ supreme camera edition. It seems HTC is favoring google apps (which I freaking hate) for the US u11. Google photos sucks compared to HTC gallery. Google office products suck compared to Polaris. I cannot view live stream content because HTC service video is not supported. HTC customer service instead, tells me to use chrome. I hate chrome!! I had no problem viewing live stream content via Firefox on my one m9+ SC. I hate TouchPal keyboard, HTC sense keyboard is much better. Seriously I hate the US version of the u11!!

Quite frankly there may not be a truly global version of the U11. except possibly one purchased in Hong Kong or something might be, but even that may not be completely suitable for use in the United States, depending on your carrier. However, I'm sure they'll all be as much Google orientated as the US version, and I'm sure the only U11 that won't have any Google is the China version.

It'll have mostly have/favor HTC apps instead of Google (google apps will be secondary/optional) like the one m9+ SC and m10 international. I simply cannot stand the US version. I have my reasons for disliking google apps.

I just want to know when the international version is released in Asia, so I can import it. I am serioualy thinking about returning this phone. Besides the crappy google apps, the phone, apps, and SD card keeps crashing. When I tried to restart my phone it freezes constantly. I just really hate the US version of this phone.

It's pre-order in HK now, I don't know any availability dates yet. However I can't find any info about compatibility in the US, like say 4G LTE compatibility. Because many phones intended for Asia just don't bother US 4G LTE bands and modes. Also if you're on Verizon or Sprint, no chance.

I'm T-Mobile (gsm), I believe all HTC international phones are GSM friendly like the one m9+ and m10 international. I may not get LTE, but I'll have 4g. Would you happen to know if the Taiwan version is also still pre-order? I'm going to return this phone and get my money back, and just import the Taiwan international version. I will go back to using my HTC One m9+ supreme camera edition until then.

AFAIK 4G and LTE are one and the same thing, unless anyone else knows otherwise? And phones intended for Asia sometimes don't have the US 4G LTE bands and modes. Such as the HTC One M8 and One M9 Asian versions, they do NOT have US 4G LTE bands and modes.

According to that it's expected to ship mid-June, which would be any time now of course. For Taiwan and HK, I'm sure will get the same version phones at the same time, it's the general SE Asia market area, which includes Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, etc.

On my HTC One m9+ SC edition I had H which I believe stood for 4g. Thank you. I'm just going to return this phone and try to import the Taiwan 128gb version (international). Also, Europe and Asia use gsm, that's why they are GSM friendly.

Update:
H stands for a higher version of 3g. H+ stands for 4g. I don't mind using 3g 2.0, I mostly use Wi-Fi anyways. H is what my m9+ SC edition use for mobile data and it was satisfactory. Sometimes I would get H+.

Hey, do you know if that website delivers to the US? If not, that's all right, I will see if eBay or Amazon will sell it.

Why do you think the international version will have the old, no longer supported htc apps rather than the Google ones? I've never seen any owner post that this is the case. BTW I'm European, so what you call the international version is the domestic one for me.

For the last couple of years people have been adapting some of the HTC apps to run on other devices. I've not followed those discussions because I've not needed to (old phone), but there may be a solution out there.

They were available on sale in most of the world before they became available in the States. This is actually the first time I've read of stability problems though (I do hang out in other places where this phone is discussed as well).

Actually H+ stands for HSDPA+, which is a 3G technology, though some US carriers' marketing departments tried to pass it off as 4G when they didn't have a decent LTE rollout.

GSM and even UMTS compatibility should be ok, but if you want 4G I'd check the LTE bands carefully, as these are the things that are most likely to vary between models. Also if T-Mobile still uses AWS (the odd 3G where uplink and downlink were quite widely separated in frequency) it's worth checking that too, since few if any others ever used that anywhere on the planet.

Because HTC favors their apps over Google's for their international phones like the one m9+ SC edition, and the m10. I think it has to do with Google apps in China.

The HTC u11 128gb will not be released in Europe or the US therefor, it cannot be a domestic phone for you.

The u11 128gb uses band 2, 4 and 12 which is important for me to get Tmobiles 4g in the states. So I'm good.

No, not the 128GB, but what you call the international version is domestic for me. And my wife has a HTC 10, I've exchanged messages with a number of non-US U11 owners, and I'm telling you they do not favour their apps over the Google ones any more - your M9 is a 2 year old model now, things have changed.

Since you mention the Gallery app and Asian models, if you go to HTC Hong Kong's U11 support site you'll find it describes how to use Google Photos as well. But if you want the HTC gallery, look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-apps-t3371688

The 128gb is the international version. All regions will get the 64gb. The 128gb won't be available in Europe just select Asian countries. So it is not a domestic phone for you.

There are regions which are only getting the 128.

But fine, use the terms as you like. But please check with someone who actually owns the specific model you want to buy what apps are on it if that is important to you. Don't base it on what your older device has, as HTC have been phasing their apps out steadily over the last few years.

I don't know anyone who has the Asia 128gb version. My biggest gripe right now is the constant micro SD card crashing, and the phone crashing. I called Amazon and they are sending me a new one Wednesday. Hopefully that one won't have problems. I was going to originally ask for a refund and buy the 128gb from eBay, but the seller will not answer if the phone will be new and sealed and also an authentic HTC product.

I recorded a lot of videos on my one m9+ SC edition that I transfered to my u11, how do I view them? When I click on Google photos they do not appear, when I click on them from the file manager it doesn't play. This is why I hate google apps.

@Rynx

If you still have old phone, try extracting the HTC apps from the system and sideload them to your new HTC. I'm not familiar with the OS differences between the two handsets, but you may have 50/50 shot of being able to run them anyway.

I agree with you on Google's app takeover on newer phones, they're horrible. Google photos and Gboard being the worst of them.
Heed hadrons advice on the LTE bands, I've been duped buying overseas handsets before. Check thrice with different sources, buy once.
