Contact name disappears at ramdom

Why does the name of someone that I text several times a day just disappear? Happens in phone contacts at random as well. Ok Google still knows the name associated with the number but it is no longer in my contacts under that name

I am having the same problem on an HTC10 and on my Dell laptop ... it is my google account, luckily I saved my old account that I had merged my contacts from so I can always go back to that account to find them but it really is just deleting the name, email, phone and address but keeping the notes???? it is so bizarre ... it has happened probably 10 times for the last 6-8 months. I can look up the name and then copy the information back but why is it deleting at all?????

I think I have a similar problem with avatars of people I know. In messaging and contact apps I use. The name is still there but the picture is gone.
