Hi, I have a new Samsung Galaxy Sky, Marshmallow 6.0.1, and it has the flashlight app buried in a menu in the emergency section. I would like to have a shortcut to flashlight on the home screen.

I don't know how to move or create a shortcut to this app. Can someone please help, thanks.

The flashlight function is part of the menu, and is not an app per se, so you can't make a shortcut to it directly.

I'd suggest a flashlight widget, if you want one on your home screen. There literally hundreds, if not thousands, of flashlight apps. Some of them are just rehashes of others, but some include some questionable permissions and push ads, so be careful.

I've used TeslaLED in the past (and still have it installed on my phones running Nougat) without issue. It does require access to your camera, but it's an old app and that's how it used to have to control the LED/Flash. It still works.

A lot of phones have a shortcut to the torch with a 2 finger pull down of the settings draw at the top of the screen. Try that? You may also be able to add a shortcut to it via that menu.

If not you could always use a custom launcher such as Nova that will allow you to create a shortcut to the torch on your home screen.

You can also use apps such as HD Widgets that will also allow you to create custom widgets that will allow you to add a custom button to your homepage for your torch.

Personally I use to use HD Widgets for a torch shortcut before it was added to my settings tab.

Thanks to lunatic59 and JAy3001 for the very prompt replies to my question.

The two finger swipe provides quick access to my flashlight and works great for me.

This forum is amazing, that was my first post and I was very surprised how fast my question was answered. Thank you both very much for the help.
